god damm what a game..... full of adrelanine, espanyol was espanyol and barca was messi.... the tie imo was the most deserving for both teams tought we had like 3 clear chances and the end.... of course iam not happy with the tie ... but what ima happy about its that finally this team showed some heart as visitors.

Why are people going on about how he hasn't lost any of his ability, but still we shouldn't expect him to go past 4 or 5 defenders anymore? I mean we didn't like Ronnie just because he dribbled a bunch of idiots ... no, we liked him because he created goal after goal, and pulled off the unexpected, the incredible in the process ... all he did was make space in his own way to either use his vision to play the perfect ball, or to curl a pearler into the top corner ... and if a bunch of defenders got in his way, and Ronnie had to take them to school, then so be it!
But ever since that Champions League final, something happened ... he still produced moments of brilliance since then, but they seem more to be sporadic flashes of inspiration than the causality of genius taking effect ...

The reason I don't post much here is simple: my teams are playing like a bunch of twats ... and they are being managed/coached by a bunch of twats too ... well, that's a bit harsh -- there are times when they look OK, and certain players bear less responsibility for it than others; but the overall picture is that as a supporter of Ajax, the Oranje, and Barça, it is a time of frustration and irritation ...
ten Cate sucked as a manager, Adrie Koster isn't a godsend, and Ajax keep failing to both win the Eredivisie and make the Champions League ...
San Marco has turned into Van Bastard; where are the Flying Dutch Lions of Total Football? The Dutch displays have been insipid for a while now ...
and then there's Rijkaard -- who I have had a disliking for ever since he got rid of Quaresma (and to a lesser extent Kluivert) -- and then managed to ride along on the wave of success that forms when one the best squads ever assembled all play to their fullest potential ... Rijkaard has always been tactically inept -- showcased when he came up against top quality managers (Mourinho and Rafa Benitez) who had players decent enough to execute their plans -- and now, more than ever, he looks like a one-trick pony ... well not so much a pony; more like a really old warhorse ...
I started watching football as a child in the early nineties, and even then (as a tactical novice) I enjoyed the attacking philosophy of football embodied by Ajax, Barça, and Holland ... now, though, there seems to be more appreciation for the English Premiership, with lots of product branding, flashy hype, and a type of football that shows how inability to retain posession and build a flowing moves has led to long balls and counterattacking ping-pong ... Barça were setting the benchmark for beautiful football for a couple of years ... not any more, and that is sad to see ... ah well, I'm only as old as Leo Messi, so I'm sure I'll see Barça (and Ajax, and the Nederlands) revive it's (their) brand of total football, sooner rather than later ...

It's not in my nature to wish anyone ill ... but if I was to say that I am not glad that, for whatever reason, Thierry Henry is unable to play, I would be lying ... I can't wait for mi jugador, y su jugador favorito'o Eto'o to return!
EDIT: Also, Titi sucks ... Rijkaards sucks for liking Titi so much and splurging so much cash on him, and then having to justify his spendthriftness by playing him all the f*cking time ... OK, I'm done.

? Bojan, yea maybe, but he's too young to be a constant starter, he's a great sub, but not yet 90min material, at least not for Barca.

€24M is what Inter payed for Zlatan! At 25, and still climbing to the peak of his powers, I would describe that purchase as an assured investment in the future of the club ... and sure enough, a year and a scudetto later, Zlatan is amongst the best in the world, and Inter is a powerhouse in Italy, and soon abroad ...
Meanwhile, €24M for a 30-year old is always steep ... OK, I understand, it's Thierry Henry, a legend at Arsenal, a winner of a World Cup and EURO, so it seems like he's worth all that -- and some say even more ... but that's just it: we're getting the 30-yr old Henry, the one at the twilight of his career, who will last maybe 1 or max. 2 more years at the top, and will then have to settle for a bit-part role before being phased out ...
OK, I'll admit I'm being as harsh as possible on Henry, and that's simply because he needs to stop being so cocky about himself, and get his ego down a little ... I still haven't forgiven him for what he said after the Champions League final ... and it's not because he said something against Barça, but saying the referee should have told him before the game that he was going to favour the opposition team is such a bull**** excuse ... plus that **** he tried to pull in the World Cup game against Spain was just pathetic ...
don't get me wrong, I want Barça's players playing beautiful football ... I just think Henry needs to dump the attitude ...
oh, and off the match pitch and on the training ground, he gets big points from me (and the rest of Barça faithful I'm sure) for taking Bojan under his wing ... big up to Titi for that!
