We're building some nice pressure.
Deco got a great pass from Abidal to 16 meters and had a quick shot.
Immediatly after that we had a good free kick from 20-something meters and a corner kick after that. Some good chances, but yet no goals. I hope we'll change that soon.

IT'S A GOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAL!
Corner given short by Ronnie to Messi, he gives it back, again to Messi, he dekes a couple of defenders gives it low in center and a Lyon defender (Clerc) knocked it to his own net.

Amazing!
Messi tackles beautifully, some passes, Ronnie dekes, chips to Messi in 10, he turns and shoots. Clerc slides to resque and just gets it and it's a corner. Nothing special happens there.

We've been dominating so far, the team's performance has been great, Ronnie's and Messi's have been amazing. As I look at the team today, I'm starting to get confident, that we'll have chances to win any competition we compete in. I hope we can keep this up.

Great first half. Messi has been amazing. He's bringing pressure everytime he has the ball. We have all the possession. The only bad thing is it's only 1-0. It could've easily been 2-0, but Clerc saved Messi's shot.
Looking forward to the second half. I'd love to see Henry finally score, but he's been invisible in the last 20 minutes or so. That, or seeing Gio get some playing time.

We really need some more shots on goal.
Iniesta in for Ronaldinho, Frank probably wants to rest him a bit and slow the game a bit down.
EDIT: Henry got a yellow. Stupid call from the ref, he continued the play after an offside call which he clearly couldn't hear.

Gio in for Xavi.
I'm hoping he can produce something, I'd love to see him score.
Deco has been ous best player on the second half, as the team hasn't been as good as on the first half.

Finally, the second goal. Amazing passing to set it up. Deco to Gio, gets it back, gives to Iniesta in the box he turns and gives it in front of Messi 12 metres straight from goal, and he puts it down in the right corner.

He seems so relieved know. Lyon defender messed up, Gio got the ball, ran in center shot, rebound straight to Henry and he hits it in the empty net.

Great game overall. The second half was a bit frustrating at times, but the goals finally came. I'm definitely satisfied. Got to see Gio play, set up Henry for a goal, and a convincing win.
well actually all the game was a bit frustrating , our defense was impecable, our midfield was destroying lyon and we created inmense chances for scoring, still we are lacking that last touch, henry and dinho once again had a very poor game, but i like the idea of gio beeing our deluxe sub, it seems he does more damage when he comes as a sub, monster game by messi, marquez and abidal, i am gaining so much respect for abidal that dude has an amazing stanima, he was going up and down the flank like crazy....
in resume we are still missing that final touch but nonetheless we totally owned lyon.... a really positive result given the hard matches comming abroad.

Well, I think he played well, at least for the first half. But he wasn't amazing, he had his moments, couple genious passes and so on, but other than that, he seemed pretty lazy.

i don't wanna rain on your parade guys but you faced the weakest side l'ol has put together during their last six years, i think alan perrin is not the man for les gones and it showed, if this match wouldve happened last season you would've been trashed, and it saddens me because Henry is a shell of the player he was.

Still, it is a positive result and 3 goals are a good thing for the team's confidence, despite not playing really well. Sometimes it's a game like this which starts you on a roll.
