Because it didn't have any of their new sponsor's colours? ING are pumping $100 million into Renault, they would expect some kind of return.

They should have declined ING for aesthetic reasons, though.

Although Kovalainen is a very quick learner, and he could be a surprise title candidate this year, I don't really expect Renault to be a factor in the championship. Somehow they seem to have lost their grasp on success. To me it seems it will be a Ferrari dominance, thanks to their history with Bridgestone.
Toyota might finally become a real player in the game, and Honda are there too. If Toyota is on the ball this year, you can also expect Williams to be back up front. And then there's outsiders like BMW, and Red Bull, with Renault engines and the Newey car. I rank Renault just above Toyota and Honda, with McLaren back in the pack around Red Bull and BMW.

Non-runners will be Super Aguri and Spyker, at least for the first 5 races. After that, they could get a lot closer to the rest of the field. Scuderia Toro Rosso will be the darkest of horses. They could bomb, or they could be occasional podium runners like BMW last year.

This single tyre supplier situation could harm a lot of teams, especially early in the season. And the engine development being halted in March will bring out the true genius of the teams' engine designers after 6 to 10 races.

Could be a boring season with Massa and Räikkönen running away with everything, or there could also be a lot of competition from the start. Or anything in between. My guess is the first 6 races will be Ferrari dominated, after which other teams will claw back points, only to find the gap too big.

Massa for champion. Räikkönen second, Kovalainen third. Fisichella sacked and replaced after 10 races.

New Renault:

yuck?

Now I dont know much about aerodynamics and stuff, but that looks like a F1 car that's been skipping workouts and eating too much instead. :(

It looks like crap, that's what it looks like...

New Red Bull:

meh... Newey's influence is visible, but the pictures aren't very revealing.

Honda's livery... :| :O  but seriously, I like it! Original is good, and I bet this will look very cool speeding on the racetrack - even if it looks a tad artificial while stopped, and has no relation at all to Honda. Oh, about rpvankasteren mentioning thery're enviromental-awareness mode...

Honda becomes a charitable institution

Honda Racing F1 is not only going green but iss also inviting organisations and people to make a donation to an environmental charity and thus appear on the F1 car. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness of the problems of global warming and encourage people to do more about it. Under the concept of "our car is your car", each donor will buy a tiny individual pixel which will help build the image of planet earth on the car. Each name will be visible on the website when you make the pledge or under a microscope on the car. Donations can be made via the website www.myearthdream.com. The new programme is believed to be an idea that comes from Honda's involvement with Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment.

"We hope that in raising awareness and highlighting the issues we will encourage members of the public to come together and help take on the challenge of climate change," said the team's chief executive Nick Fry.

Thus far Universal Music and Gatorade have signed up and other companies that will be involved include IBM, Fila, Instron, Showa Denko, TUV and GF Agie Charmilles.

What put me down on this thread, however, was Renault. They were my favourite colour scheme, and now reverted to something like those classless 2nd-division club kits (the ones you can't even tell what the colors are under so many adverts). If only they were more sensible in using the goddamn orange...
