I am evaluating to develope a tool for Face Makers but I am not a face maker at all. Which features do you think a tool like that should have ?

I have my own list:
  • Start from any existing model or texture.
  • Start from any real picture of a player.
  • Merge Head and Hair models from different files.
  • Stretch the real picture of the player over an existing texture using some reference points manually defined (e.g. eyes, nose, mouth etc)
  • Adapt skin tone: select a reference point, select a target point. Find the rgb transformation that makes the target point equal to the reference point and apply it to the area imported from the original picture.
  • Change rgb components in the texture
  • Preview 3D

Post here your opinion please.

a tool to see the faces like in oedit but with hair with 0000-a hair file, like look in kit raptor but oedit format, would be nice

It would be great maybe if you make a tool just for facemakers to make everything easyer. A hairconvert option, preview option, fast mapping option or something etc. etc.

But your idea is great too, if it's possible!

This tool sounds great, I hope it happens. This might sound farfetched, but it would be cool if there was a way to make a 2D texture of the model. In other words, using the lighting of O edit and specific points on the model, if you could extract a flat image to use as a base for the maps.

Great. This tool won´t only help the facemakers but will also make possible for people with less talent or time to make some good faces.

If this tool works good i am sure that we will have much more faces for smaller leagues which is great.:rockman:

OK mates, thanks for your enthusiasm. I will start to work on this tool and I will let you know when something is available for testing.

For Arnau: to manage transpaerncy in the bitmap should not be a problem using .png files, is this what you are asking for ?

For Pextara: I am not sure, but isn't this the UV map already available in OEdit ?

Btw. my tool will not allow to manipulate model files like OEdit does, I just hope I will be able to merge hair and heads from different models.
