Stadium ban for Besiktas
Tuesday, 23 November 2004
Besiktas JK must play their next three Turkish Superleague home matches behind closed doors following the killing of a fan at the Inönü stadium in Istanbul last weekend.

Sanction
The Turkish Football Association decided to impose the sanction after 16-year-old Cihat Aktas was stabbed to death when fighting broke out among Besiktas fans during half-time of Sunday's game against Rizespor. This decision means that the Inönü stadium will be empty for the matches against Istanbulspor AS, Akçaabat Sebatspor and Malatyaspor.

:kader:
ugly, ugly stuff, it's time for europe to get it's act together and stop the violence once and for all at soccer games, enough is enough. there is no reason any fan should have a weapon at any sporting event, and security needs to stop fights before they get this far. Besiktas should play out the rest of the season behind closed doors not just three games.

Is because some fans take it to the extreme and is not supossed to be like that , they need to calm down and only support their team.

Good job.. (Y)

The other leagues must really look to the EPL for help, I honestly don't remember the last time I heard something as serious as this break out in England.

You can't stop violence in soccer, it won't ever go away. You can, however, contain it as much as possible.

Anyway, Besiktas should also be heavily fined.

This happened to two Leeds fans when they played in Turkey a few years ago. Two fans of Leeds United were stabbed to death and nothing happened. No games behind closed doors, No threat of a kicking out, no nothing.

Turkey should be banned from european competiton for at least 5 years

ok you all talked and now listen, I'll try to make it as clear as I can make

I'm turkish and a galatasaray fan. so I know what happened in the stadium rather than you the guys commenting from 6000 km's away. the stabbed fan had nothing to do with team, it's a personal disagreement so it's a criminal situation. it may happen elsewhere but it happened in a stadium. I agree, there's no room for a knife in a stadium, and the criminal didn't have a proper ticket for the match either. I again agree that stadium security is a bit lacking in turkey for domestical matches (clubs should obey UEFA rules in order to stay in competetions, so they do so in continental competetions).

and now, with your understanding, UEFA should ban AS Roma from international competetions for more than one matches, I don't know what the fcuk we should do to the persons who are responsible for Heysel (or whatever) in 1985, or we should permanently close the argentine league

and for dumbasses who are talking about EPL and Leeds: first we all know the stages you've gone through to obtain this discipline-security whatever you may call in EPL. hooliganism is a problem that you've faced and solved(?), it's not ours.

and for the leeds united case; turkish fans travel all over the continent for UEFA competetions, and our only clash is with you english bastards. but you get trouble to everywhere you go. that's what the world knows. for every action, there's a reaction. and a turkish reaction is quite a fcuking thing.

actually it's not possible for someone to have been killed at that nba game considering that we here in the US don't let prople in with weapons, moron. we know how to control our fans and the worst thing you will see is someone getting punched and then security gets there immediatly to stop the fight.

And how the fvck is it not the clubs problem when a fan get murdered?!?! you must be the biggest idot, how can you be so dumb? it is first and foremost the clubs problem! and if I was in charge of the turkish fa or uefa I would ban besiktas the rest of the season and fine them heavily, and also force them to compinsate the poor family of this kid. this situation is absolutly disgusting and should never happen.

you're not in charge of turkish fa or UEFA so shut the fcuk up and do not comment like you know these situations better than them. unlike you, they investigate the situation first and then apply the proper charges-fines. you even don't know anything about the case. **** happens in a crowd-stadium, I've explained before that it was not a crowd trouble.

No and i guess Turkish fans are well behaved wherever they go huh?......You guys can be the most uncivilised supporters i have ever come across. You even had to have some matches played in another country because its too dangerous to go to Turkey to watch a football match......that is pathetic. You have written 2 posts and both of them are aggresive and violent.....you are not doing much of a job to convince people that you are a reasonable intelligent guy are you.........

pede54:

killing people is not a reaction.... turkish people can't just watch drunk bastards shouting out loud, swearing, making gestures to people in the middle of the night in the middle of istanbul. turkish people reacted and it was not killing directly!. a formal abuse turned into a fight, we turkish people are tempted. the point is, I'm writing with caps on, TURKISH FANS DID NOT AND DO NOT START FIGHTS, THAT'S THE ENGLISH FASHION!!..

and your second post, Galatasaray is playing in the champions league for 9 nine years. you may not have sufficient age to remember, I understand! just a reminder, turkish people travelled almost to every continent of europe; spain, norway, denmark, germany, bulgaria, russia, italy, france, switzerland, belgium, holland, czechia................ and think for their return.........

and now you just give me an example we behaved badly in these continents and I'll accept my bad. the only thing I can remember is AS Roma incident in Rome, and we all know, it was AS Roma style. it was almost the same thing that happened to Frisk.

people whom may call turkey as uncivilised should first think of their past. and it is dangerous yes to watch a football match in turkey if you're a bastard who is looking for trouble, otherwise, just talk someone who has previously been in turkey.

and at last, my reaction does not mean that neither I'm not unhappy for the stabbed guy(both for the leeds' case and besiktas case!) nor I do not accept the "relative" lack of security-discipline in football matches in turkey. I'm a bit pissed off comments from arses, made without knowing anything. there are governing and football authorities who are already taking care of this situation.

like it or not...violence wont leave soccer as long as games like (madrid vs barca) (river vs boca) (arsenal vs man u) are played...thats why i never get in fights at soccer games;) (i've been in one fight when my soccer coach decided to drink and fight some other paraguayan fan...anyways, we(5 people) won:evil: ...but had to sit somewhere else for the rest of the game
