North Korea: Would you say Facist, Communist or both?

Fascist. Any state that relies on violence as the means of control are subscribing to fascist ideology. Being nationalist rather than inter-nationalist also makes them fascist. Communism is internationalist by nature. North Korea is not internationalist.

I'm not sure there's the right word for it, but North Korea is about worshipping Jung Il, from what we know about it.

True, there is an element of 'deity' worship, and fascism doesn't completely capture the political enterprise that is North Korea, but if it is a stright choice between fascism and communism, imo it is closer to the former than the latter.

PS. I read your blog on a regular basis.

I haven't been subjected to racist insults for a long time now, but I still hear reports of racist violence occurring in New Zealand. It's not as bad as most other countries, and has improved considerably over the last 8-10 years, but it's still there. There was a report on a current affairs show here around a month ago where they interviewed a right-wing group in Christchurch who had perpetrated violence towards Asian students in the city. That being said, it's been a long time since people have assumed my dad owns a dairy(corner shop)/drives a cab and that I eat curry every day. All in all New Zealand is a pretty tolerant country and you have to be in a really ****ty neighbourhood(or Christchurch:D:p) to be subjected to blatant racist abuse. People allege that racism in the workplace still exists, and perhaps it does, but seeing as I'm not in the workforce I can't tell.

As far as India goes, it's as a result of our cosmopolitan history that we continue to be fairly tolerant of other races and belief systems. You may have read about communal violence erupting over the last few years, but that is a consequence of politicians using religion as a means of dividing and ruling people, and hindu-muslim tensions have increased since the Kashmir conflict began. Overall, it is still a safe place for everyone, and most people are very tolerant and welcoming. That's my opinion anyway:).

Sure there is racism everywhere, and my view is everyone has pre concieved thoughts to an extent about certain people, i guess its just the way u deal with it.

In the uk sure u have the bnp, im not totally sure what their views are except that they are very nationalist, from what ive heard they are a racist party. Anyways i think racism in this country is dying down especially against blacks and the focus is more on arab type people.

me personally i have as many white friends as i do black. We even share racist jokes with each other quite often doesnt mean anything really, me personally i dont take racist remarks directed at me too seriously, i just say to myself i am Gregory. yeah im black, but im an individual, the only time it may piss me off if i was to go join a football team, get a job or something

Well, you're right when you say that in India, we're tolerant of other races. But, clashes and abuse here is mostly caste and religion directed and believe me I've been experiencing it a lot in college. But this is only because the 'cosmoplitan' culture exists only in big cities which have people from all over living there. In less urban and rural places, you'll find a lot of anti-british sentiment and also the religious and caste-directed abuse, which is why we have the 'reservation' system for so-called 'lower communities' which I think is just political bulls**t for the votes and really takes the meaning out of our pledge when we say 'India is a secular country' because the picture's not nearly as rosy as TV paints it.They only go to the cities.Go elsewhere and untouchability is still practised.People from lower communities aren't even allowed into the homes of 'upper communities'.So, in a way, it's worse than racism because all this is sort of infighting.:kader:

Like a 'story':
God gave a lot more to India in terms of natural resources, riches etc. and the angels were worried. But God said, "You should see the people I put there, they'll waste everything".:(
