Fatigue Effect

Does anyone know exactly what effect fatigue has on the players during the game? For example, if I start a player in a game who is visibly fatigued from the last game, what effect, if any, will this have on the players abilities?

Thanks,
BillyK

I love how fatigue affects the stats of a player now.

When players enter red, you will notice a major difference between how good they play when they are on green.

And to test this I even played a starting 11 team that were in their reds and I lost 2-1, then reloaded manager mode and played the reserves/subs team on all green and I won 3-0.

Just goes to show that Gerrard can't always net 30yarders when he is tired.

Yeah subs are crucial this year. I always check the management area around half time. See who needs to come out.

One thing I hate is when the game goes to half or in between extra time, you can't sub from that menu.

You have to wait for kickoff and then pause and sub.

It would also be nice if you could set up tactical subs. Like if you are down a goal or up a goal you could have a quick sub order that you could easily pop up during the game. Press a certain button and a small menu pops up with your quick sub listed and you just confirm. Next time the ball is out the sub is made.

you can sub at half...you have to go to the match facts screen and then hit button 1 on my controller setup and it takes you to the pause menu where you can make halftime subs. I do NOT think that this works between fulltime and extratime though

Don't assume that just because parameters appear in the INI files that they are actually used in the game. Those particular entries are redundant - they weren't used in FIFA 06 and aren't used in FIFA 07 either.

I agree with your general conclusion - player's skills seem to drop off when they are tired - but that is hardly a definitive test. If my own experiences, with previous FIFAs as well as the current one, are any indication you could have played the game again with the same starting 11 and won 3-0 (or lost 2-0, or whatever)

And just to complete the circle Billy, I'll post the same reply as I sent in my response to your PM on the subject ;)

I've not really studied it for FIFA 07, and I've not seen anything cogent on any of the forums. It used to be that a player with an empty fatigue bar would stop running quickly even if the sprint button was pressed, but I've not noticed if that is still true, and I've no idea what other effects apply. It certainly feels as if my players are less effective when they are all tired at the start of a game.

Do you use sprint with your players that get tired out?? I've seen suggestions that using sprint a lot is the root cause of the problem, but I know that isn't entirely true (there are players on my team that get tired who I never use sprint with, whilst my forwards don't get as tired as everyone else and I use sprint a lot with them). However, it may exacerbate the problem, especially over longer distances.
