Wait, what did the board do to make the same players as last season (plus the most expensive player in the world) fall in the CL quarters, lose the title at home, and lose the Copa del Rey? I mean, the board aren't on the field, right? And they're not the ones preparing the team before the match? Did they fail to pay the players or the coaching staff? Please explain your reasoning in clear terms and simple words because I'm an idiot.

Every Barça fan on this planet knows that the board is our problem, not the coach. We don't have a fucking CB, Xavi is old but Thiago was sold after a stupid clause, they want to sell Alexis for 20 M but but Cuadrado for 30 and David Luiz is (was?!) our first CB choice, we don't have a ST, etc. Since the UCL Final against Man United everyone knew we need a good CB but here we are three years later with Mascherano CB. Pedro has been very poor in the last 3 seasons but he is the golden boy from la masia. Monaco picked up Abidal on a free even if we needed a player like Abi.
Zubi says that nothing happened until August 15 last summer. Marquinhos and Benatia were signed in July. Miranda had a €10m buyout in May. The board is trying to do in one summer what they had to do in three summers. I hope this time is different.

Anyway, none of that explains how a title-winning side for each of the last few seasons managed to win nothing with the same squad plus one of the best players in the world. Blaming the board for your players not giving a shit and the management being too inept to motivate them or take advantage of Atleti and Real trying to gift them their title is stupid. Even if the board messed up, after January this side had a chance to win everything and they managed to scrape it to the final matchday and lost the title at home. You cannot blame the board for that.
I don't blame our board for not getting a proper creative MC or striker. We still had every chance to win something and the team and management themselves failed. It's the same here. This is a very capable side that managed to be completely unthreatening for the whole season. The board can be party at fault for not making the team better, but the losses themselves are the team's fault.
