Eto'o blasts Blues
Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o has launched an outspoken attack on Chelsea ahead of the two giants' UEFA Champions League knockout clash.
Eto'o rejected any notions that Chelsea are unbeatable, and stated that he would punish the London side for not signing him when they had the chance last summer.
The Cameroon international also singled out star striker Didier Drogba and Blues boss Jose Mourinho for criticism, a dangerous tactic that could undoubtedly back-fire when the two teams meet next week.
Eto'o has been La Liga's stand out goal scorer so far this season, and emphatically declared that the Catalan side's dazzling attacking riches would see them triumph over the two legs.
"This is a very special game for everybody involved," said Eto'o.
"The whole world seems to think that Chelsea are invincible and the best team in Europe, but I want to help Barca prove that is not true.
"The major difference between the two sides is in scoring goals. Chelsea win with little effort up front, but we win with loads of goals and there will be no doubt we are superior after these two games.
"Chelsea said they wanted to buy me and then never carried the deal through.
"I will show that they made a huge and expensive mistake. They will realise it most when my goals dump them out of Europe.
"We all know that Petr Cech has not conceded a goal for a long time but then again he has not played against me.
"Playing Barcelona will be a nightmare for Chelsea at the Nou Camp and in London.
Eto'o was crowned African Player of the Year for the second season in succession recently, ahead of Drogba, and announced his superiority over Chelsea's £24 million pound man.
"The attack of Chelsea? It does not worry me," Eto'o continued.
"For a start [Arjen] Robben is injured and Drogba is not better than me.
"Ivory Coast have never beaten Cameroon. I am the best African player, not Drogba, all the world knows that. What has Drogba won?"
Eto'o also reserved a dig for Mourinho's man management style, stating that Barca boss Frank Rijkaard was a superior tactician despite the impressive record of the Portuguese manager.
"Mourinho may have had a lot of success in the past with teams at home and in Europe.
"But I think that Rijkaard knows more about football than the Chelsea boss and how to treat his players properly.
"I have heard that Mourinho does not always speak with his players, which cannot be good for the atmosphere at the club."
Eto'o may have provided Mourinho's men with all the motivation they need after this outburst, and the pressure will be on the Barca hit man to perform to the high standards he has set himself.

4 days old, but still good stuff.
He makes some good points, Chelsea's attack (especially without Robben) doesnt scare anybody. Why does a team with such financial power have guys like Kezman, Gudjohnsson and Drogba as their forwards? They can do better, so why dont they?
Eto'o is clearly bitter with Drogba because Ivory Coast is gonna be taking their World Cup place.
