What?? If any team challenged the big four, or if any English team had any success in the UEFA, you might have a case.ladylover;2713019 said:Yeah that's true. Like in the EPL, the smaller clubs get stronger and unfortunatly Ajax couldn't handle the situation in the last five seasons. FC Twente, AZ, Heerenveen, Groningen and NAC all became stronger. I have a feeling that Martin Jol will bring them back to the top. They are still developing good players, but the most of them aren't quite good enough for the absolute topclubs. They don't turn out to be something special. Sneijder has been one of the last very good players. Between 60 and 70 procent of the first team are from the youth system. Last season during one of the matches Ajax was playing with like 9 youth players out of the 11.

By the way, Did Real have any major catalan player in the past or not?
I don't think they're becoming harder to beat. No team has been within 8 points of the top four in the past three seasons. Every league has teams improving, like Villa, just like every league has teams getting worse (Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Portsmouth, etc). You are right about the Eredivisie; many teams have stepped it up and are legitimate title contenders, but the same can't be said for the EPL.ladylover;2713072 said:I am not talking about Europe wise. Domestically teams get stronger. They are becoming harder to beat. They also have the means to attract good players. For example Aston Villa did a very good job, they were unfortunate not to keep hold of the fourth spot. In the past Tottenham was close to ending in the top four. Everton did end up in the top four, only for Liverpool being lucky to play in the UCL, because of winning the CL. And now City are attracting top players....
