You are stupid because Cesc isn't a good DLP at all. He is best as an advanced playmaker. He doesn't recycle possession or play crossfield passes and dictate play from the back, he plays between the lines and pushes forward linking the midfield with the attack, as well as making runs past the defensive line when the forward has moved back.

He will be next to useless there...his best seasons (2007/2008 & 2009/2010) he played a more advanced role and had the Flamini then Song doing the defensive work. Walcott never mentioned "target man" but "striker". He could well be a good striker with a partner than being a headless chicken outside the box. He does his best work in the box and has no quality outside the box. I personally don't think he'll ever be something "great".
Again I am not asking him to be Pirlo by standing in the middle forever. The way Barca play I don't think he would have an issue playing there. Busquets is better than him but if Barca change formation to put him in the team I think they should start him there. They switch positions constantly to keep the ball so I don't think it would be any trouble. Depends on who they would play and there could be a whole on the left side if they switch to 3-4-3 so another Dani Alves type is needed for the left side.
Again why would I choose Lampard and Essien???
