Ach, NEIN! 3-3. Schweini with a penalty miss, and Lahm saves the day. I guess it's better than 0-0 because at least we're still scoring goals, but a draw to Gladbach is very hard to take. I know they were a big rival in the 70s with Gunter Netzer and all that, but... scheisse!!
EDIT: Speaking of which, thinking of Netzer got me to thinking about a story from 1974. Netzer was considered one of the best players in the world (he had recently transferred to Real Madrid after a massive career at Gladbach where he was German player of the year his last 2 seasons in the country... over Muller and Beckenbauer!) and yet didn't play much in the Tournament. Before the Final, to simulate Total Football, and most especially Cruyff, the second XI simulated it with Netzer as Cruyff. The plan from the start was to man mark Johan with Berti Vogts, so they told him to man mark Netzer. After 15 minutes the second XI was up 2 or 3-0 with Netzer being unstoppable. Vogts was completely out of breath and struggling. Germany adjusted (aside from the first minute, Cruyff was largely ineffective in the final). This begs a question and I'm not the first one to ask this question: If Germany had a player possibly as good as Cruyff, why the hell wasn't he on the field?! One could imagine Holzenbein or Grabowski making way in the first XI for a player such as Netzer. It's extremely curious to say the least. Either way, Germany won, and Netzer played a huge part in the win even though most would never know it. Without his ability to simulate Cruyff (a feat that probably could not be done by more than 5 players in the world, and a few of them were probably on the Netherlands) the Germans would probably have gotten demolished. Hell, if it wasn't for the heroics of Die Katze, they WOULD have been demolished. Netzer is one of the only world class Germany players who never played for Bayern that I like... of course I'm sure that would not be the case if I was alive in the early 70s.

I guess, but Netzer was one of the best players of his time. It would be like Ozil sitting on the bench for Ballack or someone like that. And that's not even quite a perfect comparison because Ozil isn't QUITE where Netzer was although he certainly could be in the next year or two.
......if Schweini scored the penalty we'd be winning 7-1, the match was totally closed, then we sucked too much the 2nd half and lost other points, anyway SCHEISS gladbach.....

I missed the match again (schedule is bad for me this year), but I didn't think we were that bad. Was the team so hopeless paolo? And I also must ask how Michael Bradley dd for Gladbach.

I don't know what you have against Pranjic, I think he's a fantastic crosser of the ball and a good backup for central midfield. Essential squad player for us in my opinion. One of the few van Gaal actually trusts too.

I know he isn't a real LB, but how many good players are there on this position? Not many. And he is doing a really good job there this season. I have to admit that last season he didn't play good, but he stepped up his game now.
Oh and also according to Bild Braafheid has been suspended.
