Yeah, he had to focus on settling as a RB here and evolved into a very complete one. Going forward is part of his game's nature, he just loves to attack and does a very good job at it.

Your feeling was right ...

MaSsiVe result for Benfica ... nice power behind those assists, and Lima with Cooler finish

Yeah this sucks, 6 points would be a record turnaround, they haven't got CL games to worry about and are the title is clearly theirs to lose, and all the banter and stupid joking we obviously have to take and have been taking this week is pretty unnerving. But now imagine if we win it.

What's the matter? Benfica lost so many players during the last summer, plus Matić in January. And you've got a pretty good looking squad, the transfer window wasn't exactly bad for you, also you've got some young talent rising, Brahimi playing well etc. Problems with so many new players gelling? That'd be my guess.

I thought you'd have no competition this season and would smoothly cruise to the title, but i must admit i know very little about Liga Portuguesa.

By the way Fili please let me know on Porto's current situation, i'm confused what's going on. In the Porto thread. Make it short if necessary.

Just in case Fili missed this. Awaiting his answer.

In our best form of the season, we lost for the first time in the league against the current champions who had everything to prove since they were knocked out of the CL. We dominated the entire game and lost through two defensive gifts in the only two times Benfica even attempted anything, and hit the post two times. It's not dramatic. It's dangerous, because Benfica only have the league now and they're 6 points clear, but whatever.

See, wasn't that hard, was it? I was just curious about the whole situation, and thought this was the easiest place to find out, and now i have increased my football knowledge yet again, even if only a little!

Anyway thanks for the little summary, explained pretty much everything i wanted to know.

chygry, did you watch that Porto-Benfica game?
Oh dear, here we go again. Thanks for keeping me entertained. Are you trying to emulate Mandieta6 trying to get Xaviesta to explain his posts like a year ago or something? Don't even bother, there's no necessity and i can't really see you succeeding in something like this to be honest, no offense. You're just acting deluded.

First off, why are you even asking me this? I don't see how's that's relevant at all. As i said earlier (the previous page?), i DO NOT follow (as in WATCH GAMES) Liga Portuguesa. But i do like to keep myself at least a little aware of what's going on in smaller leagues. I do not have the time, nor do i want to try and watch matches from 8 (random number) leagues at once for god's sake.

Now you'd probably ask me why didn't i watch it since i seem to be so interested in the league? That's already been answered to in the previous paragraph, so don't even bother. I'm just saving you some time. And to clarify things a little more just in case, I can tell you for a fact that i probably had something way better to do during that weekend than watch football on a shitty stream on a sunday evening, ALRIGHT?

Secondly, had i watched it, do you really think i had come here in the Porto thread in the first place, and even asked for that little piece of information? I think the answer is pretty clear - NO. If they play so well then i'd have seen it with my own eye and wouldn't have had to. Try to think reasonably a little before actually going ahead and asking something like this.

Thirdly, what mainly caught my curiousity was Filipower saying "the title is theirs to lose". Looking at their squads in the summer, or whenever the league began, and being familiar with the transfers that happened during the last window. My initial reaction was that Benfica will be shite this year, considering all the players they sold, and they hardly brought any new big names in. Even their fans weren't too ecstatic. While just look at the players Porto got. I think that was most people's reaction.

Now when i suddenly stumbled upon his post i just wanted to know a little more what on earth was Benfica doing in the top of the table and are favourites (are they really?) to win the title this season.

I hope this answered your question and the rest of which you already probably thought of in the process of reading this. Thus the too fucking long post. Just next time you're going to ask something make it at least an interesting one. Although if i gotta explain everything from point A to Z just in case, then the mods would probably not be too pleased. Jesus christ.
