Darkelf 1/2,

You can use FCDB XP version 2002 to edit files in the FIFA World Cup 2002 game. Go to www.fifaft.com and then to the download section. You'll get there the english pack too....

El_Andy,

I think this is not your fault. You cannot predict how the users use your INI.big editor... (even I can't use your editor coz it crashes my game) ...

Anyhow, it's a nice idea to the INI.big editor.

Thanks for your contribution to the fifa 2003 community.

wait for a newer version to come out[/unquote]

How about trying to explain what could be the problem ? It's ridiculous to expect everyone to just sit and wait while one person has to write a 'new version'.

The editor doesn't have to be the real problem, perhaps fcdb is just having a problem...but since they work independently, the files that fcdb checks/uses at startup must have been changed by the ini editor, or else everything would be fine.

FCDB has a problem in the file locations...it changed the "Fifa2003\data" to "Fifa2003data". So if anyone can find out what files it checks and in what way, we could easily find out what kind of difference in the ini files causes the problem.

My guess is that it checks wether or not it can find all the files it needs (see pref. menu) but it fails.......so.....ini edior must have made a difference there.

Andy, could the ini editor have made a change in the "Fifa2003\data" part ? perhaps it's forgetting the \ ?

Just some quick ideas..

FCDB XP problems

The FCDB program installs a "paths' file to your hard drive on installation and I thought that this must be corrupted (somehow)by the ini editor. However, even if you change the pathnames listed in that file of all the files required by FCDB the bugger still refuses to load the database.

The only solution that seems to work is:

1 - back up your current dbi files
2- reinstall FIFA 2003

I am currently using the original FCDB XP program (i.e the one that crashes when you try to import/export kits)
and wonder if anyone can e-mail the fix patch ver 1.01 that was
provided by Fifa French Touch (but has been removed from their site)

My e-mail is:
[email protected]

No, the paths file is not corrupted. Well, yes, the links are, but that doesn't seem to be the problem.

Does anyone know who wrote FCDB ? That guy must be able to tell more about the startup procedure of the program.

Uninstalling FCDB, deleting the remaining files, uninstalling INI editor and then reinstalling FCDB from the original files (including the fix, etc) doesn't seem to make a difference, so INI editor must change the files in one way for sure.
And my best guess is that it adds something by mistake, like an empty line or a few empty characters, so that something is not in the right spot anymore.

Btw, you can download it yourself from here:

The links are in the last post of this thread. Lem

And backing up your db files doesn't make a difference either. I just can't believe the editor doesn't do anything special for such a weird problem. There must be some external file (one outside of the fcdb and ini editor dirs) changed.

Language file

Renaming the Traduction.lgf file to language.lgf actually makes the english windows menus appear, but the rest of the program appears as gobbledegook (albeit in english)
any ideas ?

DISASTAH!

I renamed it to language.lgf, but the thing goes haywire! most of them are english, but inside the program, like properties of teams and what not are all either numbers, countries, or just blank! some of the menus on the top don't even make sense... WHAT'S GOING ON HERE!?:f***:

Icons

BTW,

On the left, there are tiny flags for each club, or country. When you add your own thoigh, it's that default symbol. Can you change that!?

Thanks

One MORE Thing...

Also, how do you create your own divisions!? I mean, like if you wanted to create a high school division or something like that. Furthermore, how do you create your own cups??

Thanking you people out there...

Im pretty sure you cant create divisions - only rewrite over the ones already existing (ie French, Spanish, Italian) and I think there is a player limit of 500 new players if im not mistaken
