FCP should sell how many players?

i´m a little worried about the possibilitie of our team be without some of the best players for next season, sure we can get a huge amount of money if that happens, but at what cost?

Rumours always tend to bring some truth in it, like someone said "there´s no smoke without fire" so we are facing the real possibilitie of being without:

Paulo Ferreira
Ricardo Carvalho
Costinha
Maniche
Deco
Derlei
Benni MCarthy

If you ask me, i would only sell Deco and Costinha but i suspect that we are going to sell much more than just those to.
We seem to have the abilitie after selling someone to get another good player for the same role, but selling one or to players it´s not the same of selling half of the starting eleven. I just hope that our president still knows his buissness.

The others.. i think Pinto da Costa will only sell 3.. or less..

Maybe Deco, Costinha and Ricardo Carvalho

I doubt about Deco´s move to Barcelona, they have Ronaldinho. I´m sure that Deco will leave but not to Barcelona, unless that Roman buy Ronaldinho...

U forgot one of the most important and obvious person to leave FCP - Mourinho.

If/When he joins Chelsea surely Deco and maybe a few others will follow him - not matter how big the Chelsea squad is.

But i think that with Veron, Hasselbaink and Melchiot leaving and possibly Joe Cole. Then Maniche, Deco and Paulo Ferriera will join Chelski.

I didn´t forgot him, but we already know for a fact that he will be leaving our club, as for the players there are some doubts about who is leaving and how many. In fact i agree with you(Mourinho is the most important individual in the squad), i would prefer to see all the above players leaving if Mourinho stays but it isn´t possible and i understand that now is the rigth time for him to leave.

This year´s money that we get with the CL points and TV Rights have almost reach the negative value in global FCP budget, so at a first glance we do not need to sell, but there is a major problem, our top players at some point want to prove themselves in another league, they want to see if they have what it takes in a major league like serie A or La liga, besides the top european clubs can offer 2 or 3 times more money than FCP in terms of salary, so it gets impossible to keep those players, even if they do have long term contracts with the club, FCP could keep them but, what´s the point to force a player to stay with the club when he wants to get out, probably those players will start to get desmotivated and they´ll start to make problems sooner or later, so the only way is to let them go away.
Fortunetely our club seems to have the capabilitie to quickly fill the gaps that selling players brings, but this year we are facing the possibilitie of selling half of the starting eleven and that is impossible to replace in a short or medium term (1 or 2 years).

Deco will leave for sure, and Paulo Ferreira looks like leaving. Clubs needing strikers might go after Derlei too, he looks like a proven player to me.

Derlei will probably stay. Deco is probably out the door, same for Ferreira. Maniche... dunno who would want him, maybe some Italian mid-table side. Ricardo Carvalho will probably go to Italy or Spain. I could also see Carlos Alberto leaving. McCarthy will probably go to Liverpool. Costinha will probably stay.

In a perfect world, Deco would be the only one sold...

Id love man utd to get Ferreira, hes very pacey and would be a good replacement for G.Neville, hes not getting any younger either.

I find that offer funny! :D Maybe 20 million for Deco and a picture of the CL trophy. But those 2 class players and a douchebag dirty **** for 10 million each is robbery. The price for Deco is definitely above 20 million alone, and I'd guess Carvalho would be near 14 million, and Valente would be at around 4-6 million.

Doubt he'd go to Portugal. Maybe you could sell Owen to Chelsea for 10 million, and then buy the 3 players. :D
