These cheap tactics are starting to really piss me off. Today was the SECOND time someone did the 4-3-3 on me beating me 5-1. The really pathetic part is that I had more possession which goes to show if the dickhead used a normal tactic I would've eaten his team alive.

Hugo-45-Viana: I think the reason you're not doing so well may be your tactic as much as the opposition tactic. Maybe experiment a bit more with some different ones.

The tactic I'm using is working for me though. At least for the kind of crappy players I have.

Hugo If I could give some advices -
first of all do not place your defender so wide - it is not good in this game - If you want to play with 4 defenders place them much close to themselves and rather not in line (I know it works for White StarZ but at my team always one defender doesn`t play at all if I put 4 of them in line (I mean he got 0 or 1 tackle through entire game)
also I think it is rather not good to have midfielders or attackers so wide - as far as I know in the sim there is none (or almost none) crossballs
Of course treat this only as suggestion and nothing more - I can be wrong

Dunno about you but whenever I used the 4-3-3 tactic, my two defenders on the edges never completed a pass or tackle. Very strange. I never play with more than 3 across the field at any point now, don't see the point.

Yeh thats happened with me too. Thats what makes this tactic even more wierd. It shouldnt work at all because 2 defenders do naff all during the match.

I don't see the point in having those two defenders, unless the opposition uses three forwards, with two out on the wing. Otherwise they could be used in midfield or up front.

I lost a couple of games to team using these tacitcs, annoyed me but I've won against teams using this tactic (although the winning side in my games is usually the team that's had less scoring chances - the other team seems more clinical!).

I know what I'd do and I'm pretty sure it'd work if I tried that, but I don't want to play my defenders so far up. Although at some point I may do, even if only to test it. I need to counter this tactic and I think I may have a way - pretty much fighting fire with fire but better defensively and midfield or attack.

I came up with a tactic that beat the cheap 4-3-3 almost everytime but it was crap against all the other tactics

Yeah that's a problem, I saw someone in the same FL as me do that ... one guy changed his tactics away from the cheap 4-3-3 and the other guy thought he was still going to use them ... so he lost when he tried to combat them!

I think the tactic I might use could work as there are no pushed up defenders etc. The only thing is if you put too much emphasis on defence, you either have a small number of midfielders or strikers so you'd probably need long ball. But it could work well, especially with one decent finisher and support man "in the hole" which I have.

I have my defenders about half way up and my strikers about half way up too so they are not completely stranded of defences that play right up to the line.

yeah - I also thought about this tactic - and I`ve chosen to play with 3 defenders and add 4th midfielder - let`s say attacking one
And I must say it gives me better results than playing 4-3-3. I managed to win with a team using 4-3-3 (with players comparable to mine) 6:1.

It's cheap to use the supertactics if they aren't yours... but if I discover one I won't give a **** it beats everyone
