I watched the diary pretty carefully and I am impressed. Things I picked out:

1. In the transfer market, players seem to be listed as "for sale" or not. This is good as I presume it will create a price difference between star players and those on the transfer list. It was crazy that in 2005 there is no such thing as a bargain player.

2. They have FINALLY added a player search function in career mode, oh happy day. You can sort by league, team, skill, position, "role" (not sure what this means - a leader like Keane, an inspirational player like Robben, a destructive pr*** like Bowyer - any ideas?), and transfer status. Age is not on there oddly enough.

3. Teams have some kind of Team Chemistry rating. Arsenal has a 95, Aberdeen, Sparta Prague and many others have a 75. Presumably this will help offset the fact that Madrid has great individuals and absolutely no team chemistry and can't win silverware, and I think it's brilliant.

4. Mercifully, an edit player mode looks to be in there. This is good because there have been some pretty bad mistakes in the past. Hard to blame them since there are thousands of players in the game, but now we can fix it ourselves. I hope we can edit their appearances as well so we don't see the same 2 guys all the time again.

5. Sounds like you will be able to create a team as well, so we can finally put one over on those greedy Dutch.

6. As they went through the Man U roster, I noticed that some players were given different medals in gold, silver, and bronze. Ronaldo has a gold one presumably related to dribbling and tricks, and a silver one with a #10 jersey on it, I would presume denoting a playmaker. Keane has a golden tackling medal and a bronze #10. Rooney has a golden boot and target icon. This sounds like an attempt to give players actual personality on the pitch - great idea.

National teams are also available at FIFA 06 current-gen, just look at the video, when they are showing "Select Team" screen, and there appears International. Also, check the "FIFA Lounge" part, where some guys have chosen USA or China national team. Anyway, we don't know whether FIFA 06 will include a RTWC mode... I don't think so.

Wow! Im so excited! :bouncy:

The transfer market looks great. There are 3 things I hope to god they have in career mode which I doubt they do...

1) If your team becomes more and more successfull maybe we can upgrade our stadium? It sucks playing in the Champions League final in a home field that looks like the local park.

2) Please say ALL OF THE TEAMS NAMES! This shouldnt be hard to do, as other games say names of 100s and 100s of players, why cant EA Sports record the announcers saying all the team names? It sure beats them commentators saying "The Home Team, or THe Away Team."

3) Better atmosphere. I like to use Cardiff City and their fans can sing their hearts out, and on this game you dont hear any singing. Not even the "City..City...City..." chants like other clubs have in the game. Also, when I won the Champions LEague there was no celebration, it was awful, I want to see the trophy presentation!

The game looks good i have to say :Bow: . I can admit that. Even though we, or i have been kind of disappointed by the past versions, by the video it looks good. I just have one problem. (N)

By the way i am a winning eleven fan boy that buy Fifa, no matter how bad it was a year ago, i dont know maybe because im Ea's Bitch. :jambo:

The defending in the game, has it been upgraded, because on the last fifa (2005) and previous versions, there was one major bug that got on my nerves. :boohoo:

When playing, there were many counter attack situations, and its always one center midfielder with the ball charging foward with his 2 center fowards as well, and maybe a winger, but if i step up he plays it through, and he is in on goal. Now that is normal in soccer, accept, when your fullback is playing him inside instead of outside. It happens all the time. :mad:

I could understand, if there was no fullback, but both my fullbacks are there, and they are useless. :f***:

Instead of forcing the attacker wide, they play him right to the heart of the box :mad:

which is a defender no no, if you know what i mean. IT is clearly a glitch, because it couldnt happen 10 times without it getting corrected. :hit:

Now what i noticed when watching the new videos, is that the defenders still look dumb. There was one clip where Deco had used the first touch control (hardly control,when the ball goes a few yards away) and Instead of the defender to close him down, he turned way from the ball, and stopped, and then faced back. Now all that time, he coudl have pressed Deco, and even took the ball. But i think its the FIFA dumbass defender syndrome. :sb9:

Please let it be fixed because thats unfair. :Carlos*o:

The AI did look profoundly stupid in the diary video but I presume that's because it's an early version, or they put it on a very low difficulty level so they could execute the showpiece tricks.

We should all take heart from this because it looks like they've included a lot of specific things we have been asking for for a long time, like a player editor, team creator, player search, and team chemistry. Thus I think it's safe to assume that the things we've really been pushing for have a good chance of inclusion.

Did anyone else notice that you can choose your created players celebrations??? how cool is that
And also choose where they were born... possibly if you create a awesome player and put him in like real madrid and say he is born in brazil they might include him in the brazilian national team aswell

Or you can create a good player put him in Liverpool and say he was born in Spain and include him in the Spanish national team.
