Fifa 07 in widescreen?

I got a noob question... Is Fifa 07 (and other games for that matter) supported in widescreen?
I'm buying a new computer and it includes a widescreen screen.

FIFA 06 was so I'm assuming that FIFA 07 will be as well, but I don't play on PC so it might be different than PS2.

I can only see 800x600, 1024x768 and 1280x1024

It shows me all normal (4:3) resolutions up to 1600x1200, but only 1 widescreen. It's not the same as my 15.4" notebook screen, so it doesn't work for me.

Madden 07 didn't support widescreen either, but someone showed me I could simple enter any resolution into an .ini (settings) file.
I just don't get it why EA keeps talking about NextGen, when they still refuse to support widescreen in 2006 !

Can you try the same thing in fifa 07 .ini (settings) file, like you did with madden..maybe it will work?

Btw..why cant EA make widescreen native..its same story with NBA 2007, Tiger woods 07, NHL 07, and Battlefield 2.

I've created a locale.ini before any patch or program and work great with the demo.

I'm playing it in 1280x720 on my laptop

too bad the graphics cant handle it!

Yes I know there is a 1280x720 resolution. However my monitor does not support that resolution so I need to figure out a way to run the game in 1360x768.

I did it with the demo using the Demo Raptor program but no one released one yet for the full version of the game.

You have to save it in the main directory. There's a lot of option that you can include in the file but this are just the basic ones I have.

Yea i don't know which main directory. I have tried saving it in any possible directory by now and nothing works.

Please be as specific as possible.

Did you guys save the game in drive "E"? is that the drive for your hard drive or is it just the dvd/cd drive? You just need to save it in the hard drive c:, D: or Any other drive you use to save your games. If you are using c: then is going to be... Crogram files/ea sports/ fifa 07 and this is the "main directory". Open notepad and write all of the command lines and save it in the main directory as locale.ini and it should work. Just change the resolution to wathever resolution your monitor or display supports.

Thanks for the help but I don't think you can do this in this year's FIFA. I did exactly what you told me and it does not work.

Well I did try that several times, I was about to give up untill it worked. So I don't know what to tell you.
