Fifa 2001 and ECS K7S5A

I have an Athlon 800 with ECS K7S5A (256Mb RAM, Riva TNT 2 M64 etc.) and until I buy a GOOD separate sound card I have to get on with this ****...

So that's the problem: After the match is started.. the sound turns off.. and stays like that even if I quit to the menu.. or quit the game...

What can I do about it?
