Fifa 2002 Crashes

Hi everyone

I wondered if any of you could help me with a pretty big problem I have on Ffa 2002 - whenever a game is loading, it either freezes or crashes back to the desktop, with the music stuttering even though the program is closed. I've read some of the things about crashes on here before, but I haven't heard of this problem. I have a 1400mHz WinMe PC, with a NVidia GeForce 2 graphics card.

I'd be really grateful if anyone could help me to fix this. Thanks.

sometimes this will happen after you have made changes to the teams/players ... particularly if you have used an external editor.

If not, then it could be due to low sys resources.

It never happens to me after a fresh restart. Sometimes when i have used other programs beforehand though.

Like Hammered again said, it happens after you have edited something with an outside editor, or the lo resource thing, EA should try to make more reliable games, i remember Fifa 99 almost never crashed...

It is not really a reliability problem. Fifa 99 only seem to crash less, because past games are a lot less complicated when compared to games right now. So, there is less things to crash on, less things to go wrong.

----Back to the problem ----

try to remember what you changed since the last time the game worked, and try to reverse the changes by using backup files (or from files off CD). That should make FIFA work again. If not, do a reinstall.

how much ram does your computer have? that could be a factor?

also try liminting the amount of icons u have in the taskbar in the bottom right hand corner near the clock.

I cant remember if Win Me has scandisk, try that and defrag . . . also might help :).
