Fifa 2003 similar to Fifa 99. What;s your opinion?

It seems to me that EA Fifa 2003 idea of having a Club Champions mode and a lot of new stadiums is not new. They did they same in Fifa 99. My opinion is that fifa 2003 is going to have similar graphics to fifa 2002 with ideas from fifa 99. EA keeps building on old versions. What's your opinion.

Hmm... as long as they keep the good stuff and improve on stuff that really needs to be improved, i don't mind.. football will always be football. :)

+ grafix will be better, they always are with a game.

+ gameplay will be DIFFERENT, whether or not it will be better or worse it isn't known yet.

the game will be different from fifa 2002 imo, EA haven't built this one up as much . . . and i wouldn't think it would have anything to do with the quality of the game . .

Certainly Fifa 2003 will be better than 99! No Dubt! Graphics, realism, game engine and many other aspects will be better. Of Course, Fifa 99 had somthing I missed a lot in the other articles, the computer made substitutions, there was a training mode, and there was a golden goal match. Players had a mauch greater scala of attributes and you could tune them much more personally than in the other fifa. It seems that FIFA 2003 will combine some of these aspects with FIFa 2002, and well, for me it will be a marvellous resoult, no matter what you say:D

Real faces, real stadiums. Doesnt sound like 99 to me.
Fifa 99 didnt have 24 stadiums. It didnt have Real kits, Real faces.
I do agree that they should come up with new ideas, like a real career mode, where players get older, and change in skill over many years until you have to sell them cause they are crap, or they may retire.
You should also be able to bring in new youth players, and maybe even get sacked and join another club.
Apart from good gameplay Fifa needs Depth. Its better to do a career over 20 season with a lot of things changing in the 20 years, instead of having 3 seasons where nothing changes.
I am suprised no Footy game since Sensible world of soccer (SWOS) has had a career mode. I had so much fun with SWOS years ago, even though the gameplay wasnt very detailed, and the graphics were very simple, the career mode was really fun, because you could start at a club team, then move to another club, and eventually become manager of a national side.
Its a general problem with most sports games, they are just too alike in the options.
PES has the master league, and PES2 has improved on the master league to make it more realistic, so what is Fifa going to have?

lets hope not, fifa 99 was horrible and the first step that brought the travesties that are fifa 2000 and fifa 2001, lets hope they keep building on fifa 2002 and wc 2002 and work out some of the bugs, I mean, wc 2002 is far from good gameplay, but it was more enjoyable than fifa 99, fifa 99 was more like pinball.. I remember playing it with my friends and you had to just do one timers all the time and we couldnt follow where the ball was so we just went right back to fifa 98. so if it needs to look like anything.. hopefully it will look more like 98

The Free Kick situation from the previous FIFA series, except FIFA RTWC '98, was very poor. I never scored any goals from this situation. Hopefully, the new FIFA 2003 will fix it.

Another point : The gameplay should be better this time.

i was just playing fifa 99,and its the best fifa ever..it uses the fifa 98 engine,so its not like fifa 2000,01,02,wc,etc..so i just played it,and it was great..u can pass the ball around, the animations are great, the gameplay is smooth,u can pass while running, the through passes are just like in winning eleven..the only thing i dont like is that the game is way too fast-paced..and the shooting aint very good, but its still waaaaaay much better than the pathetic fifa2002 and fifa world crap 2002..

It's most likely it will be called that, because otherwise they have to buy rights off UEFA, same with the Champions League.

Guys, when I said that fifa 2003 is similar to fifa 99 I didn't meant the graphics or the gameplay. I hope they are better than Fifa 99. What I ment is the fact that EA keeps building on old versions and doesn't come up with something new. For example with Fifa 99 they introduce the clubs champions mode, then in with fifa's 2001 and 2002 that option was taken away. And now with fifa 2003, EA is presenting the club champions mode as something that is totaly new. I might be wrong and I hope I am, but I think that fifa 2003 is going to be another soccer game with great graphics and animations like fifa 2002 but with a bad gameplay.

Hei Grassy56, do you know if TCM 2003 will be on sale in the U.S? I never saw any of the past TCM versions on sale at Wall Mart stores or any other store that sells PC games. It would be great if I could buy one.:)
