i used the thrustmaster right up until i broke it because i was playing fifa with a bit too much, um, vigor. it is much better than the gamepad pro. sometimes i had trouble getting shots off when i wanted to, but after playing the xbox version i realize that the problem is in the game, not the controller.

I use a SuperJoy Duel Box USB adaptor for my Playstation controller. Cost me 35 A$ (about 20 Euro, i guess)

I know other people have said they can't use the right analogue controler with theirs, but mine works fine. I use the right stick for skill moves and putting spin on free kicks. And the rumble works in the control pad.

The only reason I bought my MS Sidwinder (which is pretty good) is because I didn't know these adaptors existed.

I have grown tireed of people saying "You cant make a low hard shot"

Well here it is (it has been like in all previous versions of FIFA):
Press the shoot button and let it power bar get the the level YOU want.
Then right before releasing the button press the away from goal arrow( if pressing --> then switch to <-- ).
The player will release a low shot.
Practice a bit as this is not that easy(but not too hard either)
Remember to press back right before releasing the shot, cause if you press too early the player will just turn around and shoot at the centre circle.

I have done this numerous time and it works. But still there is nothing better than a top corner goal.

Guess it works.. just don't know why you'd have to go thru all that for a hard low shot.

how do to hit headers and errr"footers" hard? i can only tap it when it comes from a cross.
and how do you do volleys to score a goal like a bicycle kick?
and what can you when you et a corner. i dont know what to do. everytime i just kick it or pass it. i dunt know how to position it. dont know how to make use of it.

by the way i thought only the skils work whenyou are close to someone.

The freestyle sucks. Its like completely random skills! Whats the point of that if you cant even choose the skill you want to do?

I have managd volleys and bycycle kicks that have been as powerful as most long shots,,unfortunatley i have only managed this when a cross has been cleared by the defence and i have then volleyed it back into the area (using the lob key) then immediatley pressing the shoot button with a player in or around the box (they do look amazing and i have replays too),scoring bycyle kicks from corners is very easy ,just use the lob button and aim it just infront of the man near the front post then tap the lob button as it comes towards him and aim it for the far post.

How to configure the 'freestyle control key' to another device than the keyboard?

more goals from corner

In 4-1-2-1-2b formation, u have the best corner placement. Direct the green circle in front of the 1st player facing to u, and push "S", doesn't matter the speed, then make the receiver run a little bit away from the box in ur direction " corner giver ", and then push " player runs' and "S", while other defender will follow u, ur pass' receiver will be 1vs1 with goalie, but don't take so much time, do it very quickly, and shoot quickly...

i have fifa on both xbox and pc. i know the right analog stick does trick moves on the xbox, but my pc gamepad does not have analog sticks. how do i do trick moves??

Ah your in here Pleb. That's where you get all your trick from then! I'm in here looking for the special move for Beckham, Nistelrooy, Ashley Cole, Chris Sutton, etc. that when a player gets near the opposition box you press a couple of key combos and you go flying through the air and writhe on the ground even though the opposition is no where near you
There are lots of great tips in this thread but not many on defending. Anyone got any advice?

Scoring low shots is very easy. When you are 1vs1 against the keeper just press "W" and hold it for a while and then release.

How do you do bicycle kicks?

I agree with the low shots but you have to be close to the opposing keeper. I think the guy that was asking was looking for a Carlos Alberto type rocket along the ground from outside the box.
As for Bicycle kicks- you have to be facing in the opposite direction from which you want to shoot and use a combination of W + A. You's be better trawling the whole thread for a better explanation as it is definitely in there somewhere.

I am not bragging but i think i got this freestyle moves figured out. It only remains to be seen which other stars have skills. Diouf & Zidane share the same move[360 spin] AND Zidane is the only one, i guess who has two tricks[zizu uses the right foot to drag the ball onto the left foot and flips it up]. Veron & Mendieta share the same move[360 spin n backheel the ball]. zidane n veron dun share the same trick if u notice carefully. Ronaldo,Ronaldinho,Govou & Soler[R Mallorca] share the same trick[step the ball wif the right foot n tap it forward wif the left foot]. Ballack & Henry Share the same trick[Step-over n drag the ball away from the opponent]. Figo & kanu share the same trick[step n tap the ball sideways]. owen has his own[Feints to the left before turning right] Totti,Del Piero n Crespo share their trick[ the okocha trick: drags the ball to the left n steps over be4 fienting to the right be4 goin left] {okocha can't do it} Rivaldo,Vieri n Giggs n okocha [juz a normal but the original stepover,totally diff from the ones every1 can do in this game wif the shift button] davids[ does the shimmy by juz dragging the ball left to evade tackles n slides. simple but effective] shevchenko does an even more ridiculous trick[ CUT IN, yes he juz goes 4ward be4 cutting the ball to the right]. i tot i saw TRISTAN doin sum skill but not sure. Brazil, France,Real Madrid n Italy seem to be the one wif players doin the most skills to me. tryin to get Beckham,Raul,Carlos,Pires,Vieira,Denilson,Valeron,Aimar,Batistuta, Gerrard,Rui Costa,Joe Cole,Scholes n to do tricks if any. PLEASE NOTIFY ME IF U DO FIND ANY OTHER TRICKS. BY THE WAY YOU CAN PERFORM THIS TRICKS BY TAPPING THE SHIFT BUTTON WHILE USING THE DIRECTION BUTTONS.

9/10 times i can score a volley from a corner, go to www.rosscooper.com/fifa_2003.htm for the replay!!Now i have been experimenting with overhead kick.To do it from a corner place the curser over the penalty spot, make sure you stop the moving line on green otherwise it won't work!! As the ball is coming over to the penalty area hold sprint and repeatadly tap lob!!it depends where you are holding the directions weyher u do a sissor kick(hold direction towords goal) or o.h kick(hold direction opposite of goal)The o.h kick has never gone in yet!!?!?!

hey guys listen

the skill button, right analog stick, start button whatever
each player has a selection of 2 or 3 skills which are unique to themi.e. ronaldo does stepovers and stuff and david beckham does some crappy dropping his shoulder thing.
when you press the "skill button" it picks one of the players selection of skills at random there is no way to control which one they do.
by the way for anyone who wants to do the 360 turn, the players that can do it are zidane,djiouf,veron.

You use the shift button n direction keys to do freestyle.everybody does the shimmy wif shift but only certain ppl do freestlye like zizu,veron,ronaldo,ronaldhino,ballack,henry,tristan,rivaldo,vieri,

Veron doesnt do the same move as Zizou, the first part is the same, but when Veron has his back turned, he turns around and steps over the ball - he never actually touches it, whereas Zidane does. Oh and Mendieta does the same move as Veron!
