I cannot express enough my disappointment at this latest version. I really have enjoyed the last 2 or 3 and as a digital designer, I am at a loss as to how EA think this can be an improvement. I dont have a slow processor, yet the gameplay is so choppy it is just not worth it. I'd sooner play Fifa 2003 to be honest. The graphics alone were better in my opinion in the previous versions and it's almost like this is one big joke, particularly in light of all the publicity this version has garnered.
I feel a revolution is in order. Am I alone?

LOL it's your problem dude. I have a P3 800 ghz with 256 SDRam, GeForce 2 MX 32mb, 20GB HD with 1.5GB free space. It is 2-3 years old, but I run it just fine.

- Check to see if your system has been infected by a worm. Last year when I played 2003 performance was really bad, HD activity was high. I looked at the running processes to figure out what was eating up resources and found out I was infected by one of those annoying mass-mailing worms. Downloaded the fix, no more problems!

- Video card driver problem. OR in some rare cases your graphics card is somethign weird like a Matrox Millenium or something.

- Shut all background apps down. If you have an Antivirus make sure the AUto Protect feature is shut off. If you have a defragment utility installed like Diskeeper, make sure you disable it! Diskeeper is very annoying and it tends to defrag quietly in the background.

My computer is an:

AMD XP 2800+

And the game runs perfect at 800X600 but when I go to 1024X???? it is a little choppy... Its playable but you can notice the frames ....

hmm, fair enough but..

why does this sort of problem appear only with this game I wonder. I haven't had a problem with any other game, and while I appreciate it's catering to the 'newer' market of pc, it certainly is excluding a shed load of users. Just seems to me the gameplay has been sacrificed for amazingly realistic faces and a silly amount of leagues.
A great pity really, and ludicrous that I'll be re-installing Fifa 2003 out of choice..

Im running it on 1280X1024 on a Amd 2400+ XP 512mb ram 128mb Ti4800se, 220 gb hd and it runs like a dream!

upgrade your drivers. If only you are having the problem, its probably not a problem with the game

Try changing the refresh rate of your monitor, and if that doesn't help, download the latest drivers for your video card.

this sort of problems happens cos ea fifa team has switched from making the game for consoles and neglecting the pc version therefore the missing pc features(save replay multiplayer etc)which ea later made a patch.no way should a soccer game have such demanding specs

i also have a top notch computer, and one of the latest gpu's. and the graphics are choppy at full level.

not to mention that the gameplay suxx as well. does not make this game worthwile at all.
2003 was so much better.
it seems like you have lost control of the ball.

you can of course learn how to play if you just keep on playing, but where is the fun if it doesn't seem natural? now that 2003 was so smooth and good.????

upgrading your computer, drivers, game updates.
did not do any good for me.

i have a p4 -2800.
1 gb of ddr ram.
500 gb harddrive.
and i have a radeon 9700 pro graphics card. just below their latest model.
and yes i have just updated ALL drivers.

and in 1600*1200 it's not even worth looking it.
in 1200*1000 it's "ok".
this is the first game i have ever seen this on.

and no i don't want to lower the resolution. then the game looks like ****!

well.. choppy graphics,
combined with that i think 2003 is better. and i don't feel i have any control of my players here in 2004.. . make me think twice. and i start playing 2003 again, and throw my copy of 2004 away!
