FIFA 2005 gameplay not important????

I have just read what some people said (including Hakeem) and i could not believe my eyes. They actually said that they dont care about FIFA 2005 gameplay and that they care only about licences and Hakeem said he just saw new menus and that is what he likes at game and didnt try gameplay because it is not important to him.Does this mean that these FIFA lovers accepting defeat? Is that some kind of defence? To care only about licenses and not about gameplay? I would like to see them when PES get official licenses. So that will be converted? Saying that gameplay is not important is childish and only an angry child can say that. Angry because of the game that is simply not good enough. How can u enjoy the gameplay that is not good? Guys listen to yourselves.

here's my take: the AI is not perfectly developed yet in ANYTHING so everything, after a certain period of time, becames repetitive.

Ive played PES gameplay and yes, its better than fifa's, BUT after playing a 100 games, it becames repetitive just like FIFA does after 10 games.
So I dont care about it anymore. Im just going to make the same attacks and the same plays and score the goals the same way all over and over.

and that is way, since Fifa has the licenses, and I can easily edit it, I preffer it :)

Gameplay is never on the top of my "Reasons to Buy a game"

Its Enjoyment

and everyone has different tastes so everyones Enjoyment is different

Ive played the demo and i think FIFA 2005 is Great. thus far huge improvements

People are expecting too much too Soon

people have to realise that if they compare the Gameplay of the 1st WE to the WE now there is not any Huge difference its been improved on little by little - in the Begining they targeted the mature audience and went for realistic gameplay rather then easy gameplay and quick to pick up.

Like Fifa did - now if you compare the very 1st Fifa to the latest 2005 it isa HUGE monstrous improvement, because as mentioned fifa was never targeted t othe Mature Realistic audience - that is until now
I also played the Fifa 2005 demo and comparing it to FIFA 2004 it isa huge step in the right direction 2005 is what 2004 should have been, the 1st touch feature is actually everything they said it would be. and if you dont agree then ura fan boy or just plain lying out of your ass rolleyes.gif

Although i did have to hot wire my Xbox controller to my PC to enjoy fifa 2005. This gives me optimism about the future of FIFA and cant wait to try out the whole game with the new Career mode wich is getting closer to Maddens wich is by far the best in any game.

Its fairly obvious that PES 3 still has an advantage in gameplay but every year its less and less sooner i believe rather then later FIFA will catch up. PES is Losing in some other key poitns already, for example Player resposiveness and controll, u have more freedom in FIFA over how you controll your players

PES4 will be another small tiny improvement over PES3 ,
dont get me wrong i love PES3 and play it almost every day but at the same time im hoping to get back to playing FIFA on a regular basis wich i havent done since 2001.

Enjoyment , I enjoy scoring goals , but in FIFA you don't feel as though its you that has scored.

The ball physics are poor, the ball wobbles and shots are pot luck. I played FIFA up until 2003, then move to PES when it became available for the PC.

Player control feels light, I get the feeling I am watching the game rather than controlling it..


The lack of really being able to run/sprint with the ball and the staccato movement of the players and the ball plus the other things I mention for me do not make FIFA2005 an enjoyable game.

Not true at all. RTWC 98 was serious football, with robust features-set, as was, to a lesser extent, FIFA 99. The marketing humps seemed to get a fuller hold of the franchise with the intro of the absolutely lame FIFA 2000, and from there on...

Hell, FIFA Soccer on the 3D0 was serious...

Features today, like having only 1 of only 3 attackers during a corner, seem to be driven by marketing/appealing to a younger generation...I think it's just an odd approach, a weird choice, to ever even bother to develop corner kicks that way, but there you go...

and please, the idea of the thread was to talk about the importance of the gameplay NOT about which one is better so if you could focus on that instead of on which one is better, It'll be appreciated :)

To me WE is just as easy as FIFA. I mean its harder if you just pick up and play but once you get good at any game it becomes easy. But if you say FIFA is not gonna be good just by the Demo, thats just ignorant... I honestly thinks its gonna be really fun on world class playing a career or tourney, I cant wait. It might not be better than WE but why does that mean that FIFA will be bad if it isnt as good as WE?

Ah, people are going to stick by fifa no matter what.

Same for pes crowd.

Play the game YOU get the most joy out of.

If its FIFA, then great, if its PES/WE, then great.

As long as it's enjoyable to YOU the player no harm in playing what you feel you like in a soccer game.

OK i see your point Hakeem. Belive me i would like FIFA to be a great game. But EA is offering the same product over the years. They almost didnt change ball physics for a years for example. And scoring is totally scripted. In PES it isnt. Lets hope PES will get its licenses and FIFA will get its gameplay :) C ya

I see what Hakeem is saying, FIFA is the way to go if you want to have complete leagues, PES is what I play, but thruth be told, the team limitation can get frustrating sometimes.

Commentary is important man. Why not make them good so the complete game gets a better overall grade?

If I look at the hole game its good but a few thing makes it less good and that should be worked on.
