FIFA 2005 (what you want sorted)

i know its only been a week since 04 has been out on consoles, but this what i would like to see in FIFA 05:

- CPU AI more random, especially in atack, let's have some long range shots, some crosses etc.
- goalkeepers simply have to be sorted. lets have them standing in the right position for starters!
- sometimes the controls are a bit sluggish, eg players slow to turn on the ball, just running into defenders. needs to be a bit more slick.
- corners are good in 04, but wheres the option for short corners gone...
- throw ins are poor in 04, you need more options and more competing for the ball.
- replay and graphics glitches need to be taken away.
- more effort put in with lower league players. at least make them have the right hair and skin colour.
- crowds need to go back to 03, they were much better, much more passionate.
- the nets need to be more realistic, they are way too solid, and when u score its not satisfying enough, cos the ball doesnt bounce out of the goal in emphatic style.
- commentary could be improved. more sayings, more dramatic...
- dynamic weather has got to be included, seriously.
- custom cups.
- international cups.
- multiplayer career mode
- referees could be a bit stricter, you only get booked for tackles from behind.
- this is just me, but in fifa 03 i could swear the crowd was closer to the pitch, eg at highbury the crowd is a yard from the pitch, but in FIFA it is further away than that.
- varying sizes of pitches... again highbury is tiny, whereas spanish pitches are much bigger. mite be hard to do, but it wud be appreciated.
- edit mode!!! that is a must. if EA arent gonna make effort to have players having th right hairstyles etc, then at least let us do it.
- player swaps needs to be changed to player transfers...what is the point of swapping sum1 from man utd to some random unknown club with rubbish players???
- more options for how you want ur team to play, more tactics.

most of these suggestions are little things, EA if you are gonna do anything to improve your game, you simply have to sort the keepers out, and give the CPU AI more attacking styles, instead of passing thru the middle.

Fifa 04, is a good game, dont get me wrong, but it could be much, much, MUCH BETTER with a bit of common sense on EA's behalf, especially for us console users, cos there are no gameplay patches to sort EA's mistakes.

one more thing i forgot. player attributes have got to have an effect. from what ive seen thierry henry is no quicker than even lower league defenders, and cannot blaze past them without getting blocked off. there are differences in quality between the bigger teams and the lower teams, but not between the players, especially as regards to speed....

- Before you bring in players you can let them warm-up so they're a bit quiker/better/ and get not an injury fast

-Better crowd

-More influences on the pitch, such as fighting two players who can get red, hands and so on

-weather must be in, and affect on the play, and pitch, so its much muddier (also on jerseys) and see the water splash when je shoot, and in winter je see players breath

-off the ball OUT

-the toiletspapers, confetti, air-puppets in the game

-before the math begins, throw the cinematics of angry looking players out, and go for a formation (nice design such as in champions league)

-more cinematics , also from the coach when he wins or when he is angry when not getting a penalty

-better menu

-better allround graphics, not only the players but also crowd stadium,pitch, stewards, tv-crew

-better AI, they must also use special tricks/ long balls/ passing from the sides and far shooting

-when you win a cup, not on;y 30 seconds palyers running, but also you get awards, unlock special things, and see chearing

yeh i agree mostly. i dont mind off the ball being there, but if they can add things like weve suggested and can make the general gameplay better, but have to leave OTB out, i wud rather they leave it out. player attributes is very important mfor me... players like henry shud be able to speed away from defenders, like they do in real life. if the CPU is to stop him, they shud double up!!

Why does EA not ask people who must play the game?!? they must open some sort of FORUM so that they can see what the fifa-gamers want to see in the next version. Directors can find out som new things but mostly not thing what we are waiting for

yeah i agree. altho fifa 04 is a slight improvement on 03 it does have major flaws to the general game that could and should have been avoided, THEY HAVE A YR TO MAKE THE GAME WE WANT, BUT I VERY MUCH DOUBT THEY WILL INCLUDE THE THINGS WE HAVE SUGGESTED DO YOU?

We can see easily you're newbie, EA opened a forum to ask player what they wanted to see in FIFA 2004. Unfortunately, EA didn't what some of us wanted and did what most of us wanted.

That's difficult to make a customize game (or it would take century to know what everybody wanna have in his own game). I think the game is good, unfortunately, menu are worst than ever, kits format is really bad and promotion/relegation seems to be unavailable in FIFA 2004 (except for top 5 leagues).

By the way, we must wait and hope that they'll see many guys are not completely happy with this game and hope they'll try to improve it for 2005.

Fifa2003 used to be my only place to play a half decent soccer game on PC...with PES3 coming to PC soon and after playing both Fifa2004 and PES3 demos on PC i can only advise you guys to forget about this pile of EA turd and head on to PES...maybe that will send a rocket up EA's ass and maybe in 2010 they might just release a decent footie game.

Quikzilver, you took the words out of my mouth. I am a big supporter of the create a player feature. It has been in many games for years, it is pretty basic, and can add tons to the game. They influence career mode so much, and it is always better to play your character through his career.

for one thing more stadiums, players own cinematics like martins backfliping like 5 times, and the national anthems for the international teams.

I have only played the demo, but I find that it is impossible to dribble past defenders. I wish that they would take into account players' speed and dribbling skills so that players like Henry and Totti would be able to beat defenders one-on-one.

I've played 40 games of FIFA now, and to tell you the truth, I have no idea of what everyones complaining about. It took me about 20 games to adjust but im still on semi pro in the english third division, so this will keep me going for ages. What are the other major flaws?
