Can you tweak the "real-live-gameplay" so that next sunday-evening in Olimpico Shevchenko WILL miss those chances and Doni will be invincible for once in the Roma-goal, as we (Roma) will need all the help we can get if we wish to get anything out of that encounter ! :fool:

well, i have an idea of how to tweak the goalkeeper, make him catch more balls! and box fewer! even if I shoot a weak shot, he boxes it away wtf is that? and a ball from far out, straight at him ,, boxes... and then make the speed of the players MUCH more varied.
dunno if its possible, but can u tweak the throw-in system to? bcuz i hate its the same everywhere on the field, and if youre on a counter attack, u want to make a quick throw in, but you cant, you have to see a clip of the players and *pling* theres 3 of your own and 3 of the other team waiting for you to throw, and all their players are back at thei possesions. I mean.. Im not watching football, im playing it! thats the big error fifa has done in all their games. and that the players are so ******* slow to react. and STUPID! if youre attacking, and play a guy free in front of an emty goal, HE GOTTA PUT IT IN THE NET! no matter wtf i press! even if i press "S" and press the backwards arrow!
theyre just too stupid, the players...

As far as I know, the throw-in system is something hardcoded inside the game's engine, and the sequence can't be tweaked. Only written from scratch or edited by those who have the source code. This goes for quick fouls that some have requested in other threads. If EA doesn't decide to put them in, we won't have them in.

And sorry, but you're wrong about that last thing. If you press S, and the backwards arrow, you tell your player to pass the effing ball to the closest player behind him. Good trick to fool the goalkeeper if he's coming straight at you and you know you won't do anything worthy with the player in control. If you want to get the ball in the net, it's not that hard. Instead of pressing S and the backwards arrow, press D and aim for the nets! It's not that difficult. It's Artificial Intelligence, that follows YOUR command. They do what YOU tell them. Player's that take decisions of their own are the players you DON'T control at the time. You can't control that particular player and expect the game to interpret whatever you press into "Shoot towards the goal." I mean, what if I don't want to shoot? What if I want to have some fun and pass? Oh no, I pressed S, but the player made a shot! How's that for a WTF?

We complained about how EA made it so passes were too accurate, and that the game was making too many decisions on its own in earlier versions. In those versions, you pressed S and Up, but the player passed it to someone to his left, because there was nobody available up, or because it JUST DECIDED TO DO SO.

I prefer players that are subject to my every command, down to the way I move my stick even the slightest to each direction. I don't want the game making decisions for me.

This goes for quick fouls that some have requested in other threads. If EA doesn't decide to put them in, we won't have them in.

I don't know exactly what you mean with "quick fouls", but if you mean the fouls that the referee can call for a strong contrast (no tackle), then there is the way to turn on them in the game: download my gameplay, or Billy's one, or just edit the ai.ini file inside config.dat and ini.big changing the line REFEREE_STRICTNESS = 0 to 2.

I absolutely agree, this year the gameplay and the game dynamics seem a lot better and much more similar to a simulation rather than to just a movie (in my opinion, this year fifa gameplay can be tweaked enough to appear more similar to Konami gameplay that is indeed better: what I don't like in Konami games is the absence of further development in number of teams, competitions, modalities.. this is why I passed to EA this year, but this is another argument that has an entire forum about it).

U cant get fifas shooting and thru balls to be as good as pes
cant get the areal moves like volley and headers
cant fix goalies
cant fix freekicks or tackles
aiming and turning are crap. fifa is stuck on 8 directions
cant fix the obvious lack of fouls/ stricter refs. 2 is too low
cant fix the dul set plays. eg forced to shoot from 40m. u cant stop thru ball lobs from going to the nearest guy in your front.

fifa isnt as good as pes1 gameplay wise

fifa 03 had the pest passing and thru balls. anyone know how to bring this back?

is it stuck in the animation or is there a code like passing_model=1 //new=1 old=0 tht can bring this back?

the collisions or physics in general are terrible.

fifa is still very far from a being a sim cos pro evo is also far from it.

Uhm, I did not noticed this brilliant comment in this foreign language, sorry. Of course Fifa is far from be a realistic simulation of football, is far from be less bad as pes probably actually is. But who really cares? I'm happy with this fifa 2006 career modality and I really don't care if it is not exactly football: I'd like to improve it with the gameplay strings, but of course what can be accomplished in this way is limited. Try fixing by yourself the ini of the gameplay, creating a custom gameplay needs not more than one hour of editing, maybe less.

The thing is.. i was, half a meter in front of a clear goal, the goalkeeper was down on the ground, at the opposit post, no defender in the way, should really just volley it in to the net, or use the chest or anything.. but, bcuz i thoughed another player gets to the ball first, and therefore press "s" ,then its just not ok that the game all the sudden figures out that it would be smarter to let me control that other player, and let that player do that command then.. the playeres should only do the command if they have had the "V" over them when i pushed the buttons..

also if I press "D" to tackle a guy, and then the CPU plays another guy, but my player (or the computer-controlled player, of mine) picks up the ball, remember my command, and kicks the ball out for a throw in.

btw, i was thinking... it could be nice if the keeper could go out and, not clear the ball, but play it back to one of the defenders, so the defenders dont have to run all the way back, with the risk of another player overrun them and snaps the ball in front of the nose.. but dunno if thats the same tricky code thing as the throw-in system..

I'm sorry if I sounded a bit condescending. It was just friendly criticism, don't get me wrong, I'm not here to flame or start a fight.

I understand your frustrations much better now that you provided good examples. And I shall say it again, for what it's worth, that all these suggestions and or criticism should go straight to EA's suggestion box. You may say "Who reads those suggestions?" Well, I think EA did read them last year, as the majority of the community requested features are now in the game. So we will get nothing by complaining inside a non-EA forum. If we want to be heard, we have to give our complaints and suggestion straight to the maker.

For EA's Suggestion Form, visit the official forums at http://boards.ea.com, browse to the FIFA 06 forum and it should have a suggestion thread or subforum. That's what the EA Tech Support site says at least, I couldn't access the forums myself as I was caught in an endless redirection loop. I guess it's just a temporary server error.

It was because I just had exited fifa :P (the hard, Ctrl+Alt+Delete way) and I had some frustrations I needed to get out, in hope of that it was possible to fix with some editing

but for me, i think fifa is history.. sooner or later PES will have the licens..and sooner or later they will have an acceptable menu...
