Hello, everyone.

I'm developing a great patch for FIFA 98. I named the project World Cup Rhapsody 2006. The main features of the patch are as follows:

- 171 National Teams Update (Jerseys, Rosters, National Reserves...)

- WC Qualification Changed to Best Simulate the Real WCQ06 Progress

- Updated Players Commentary and GUI

I've started this project for almost a month, but now there is a problem: I can't make sure if anyone like the change which the patch brings about. So I will upload an experimental one with only 32 World Cup teams update and partial features. Once uploaded, I have to stop the development of this patch temporarily, 'cause it takes too much time for me to do other things. Recently I have to find a job. I did poorly on my university entrance exam, and I'm worrying about going to private universities. Because in Taiwan, the tuition fees for private ones could triple the amount for national ones. After the beta patch being done, I have to find a job.

Your opinions about the patch can reply here if you've downloaded it, I will visit this place frequently. :amika:

hmmm, I've got too much work to do - course assignments, class activities, and even on my university football team! Yes, I started playing "real" football since this semester. In a few days I'll get into attending UFA Cup(Level 3, for non-sport-oriented schools).

Now I could only use some time on this patch, and recently the progress comes about updating the OFC teams. Having searched for these team's jersey for some time, I've founded out that there's no such information on the Internet. So, this post is for someone who knows about it. If anyone here has OFC teams' photos and jerseys, plz send to my e-mail [email protected].

AFTER INSTALL THIS PATCH, YOU CAN'T PLAY LEAGUE MODE 'CAUSE I MADE IT STORE ALL NATIONAL RESERVES. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THAT, DO NOT INSTALL THIS PATCH.

IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU COPY FIFA 98 TO A NEW LOCATION, AND INSTALL THIS PATCH. ALL ORIGINAL TEAM NAMES, PLAYER NAMES SPEECH FILES WILL BE REPLACED WITH NEW ONES OR DELETED.

Disclaimer

Long time no see:

First of all, I would like to anounce that my delicated patch for FIFA 98 will come out just on Mar 31. But I have to tell you guys something as follows:

I. Some generally known as "developing" national football teams will produce unreal(or say "incorrect") match results as common as the original game has. It will be solved in later releases.

II. Some features like Adidas Teamgeist+ Ball(TM) and new GUI designs may not be fully implemented due to lack of proper tools and yes, a creative brain of mine (sad)

Basically I will complete all the national teams, with some basic jersey styles and special ones, commentary and correct flags.

During the patch making time I start to admire EA programmers from truly heart. Though I made all of this alone, I just feel a little tired. It also delayed my university studies more or less.

But I won't give it up until 2010 (haha). Yes, surely I will make 1.0 release, but after that I think I won't update it very often. I'll keep fixing the data until they can produce good match results like another classical EA's football game, WC98. Hope I won't make any of you disappointed.

Sorry guys, after 8-month attempt to make it, I decided to give it up this morning. Not because I can't look after both study and patch work, but the difficulties to modify the team attributes well. And there's another one deadly issue: if you make some players deleted or transfered to other clubs, some specific players will be on the national team squad which is different to his nationality. Is it a bug of FIFA98 or FEd98? I don't know. What I know is I have to clear it out now and start from the very beginning. I wanna cry now!

Now I'm going to rest, and the patch is delayed without date.
