Bull. When they win they celebrate just like south americans do. There are thousand people waiting for them at the airport. I've seen this happen many times.
Like when? I doubt Barcelona's centre was filled with supporters watching the match like they were in Porto Alegre. They do like to win, and I'm sure they'd love to have won that since they were there in Japan. It's the "going to Japan in the middle of the season" that's not very appealing to them, but once they're there, they want to win.

Do you honestly think that Liverpool fans would be as delighted as they were in Istanbul if they managed to beat Sao Paulo? I certainly wouldn't.

It should be a big deal to Europeans, at the end European club "world domination" is thanks to south american players, i bet the inter exode to europe would start anytime.

So Europeans clubs should be humble an accept it is an important tournament (and i think they do, the problem are the supporters they cant accept it is an important deal cuz clubs always send their best XII) , some just cant accept the fact of loosing 2 times in a row.

If it wasnt important why they didnt send a Barcelona B based team

sorry for my english

It's the same logic Major League Baseball uses to avoid playing a cup like this against the Japanese, Mexican, Korean, Caribbean, and Venezuelan champs. In reality they don't want to deal with losing.

Ronaldinho cried (he didn't cry at the world cup), Deco threw a tantrum in the dugout area, Puyol appeared very upset, and Rijkaard's anger was visible. Seems like it mattered to them.

Maybe next year UEFA champions could take it more seriously.

Ronaldinho cried? Well the tournament organizers -undeservedly- gave him the 3rd best player trophy for his *stellar* performance, after calling in the halftime Ahly's Abo-Treika to recieve the award (before Inter scored). Abo-Treika scored 3 goals and played amazingly in all 3 matches, leading his team to the bronze. But it's all commercial.
