Hiya,
I had similar problems when I got this pad last week.I did post a fix (well,it worked for me
) here but as we know all the old threads got deleted - DOH!
Anyway,go to :
http://us.thrustmaster.com/support/index.php3
and select FireStorm Dual Power from the dropdown box.
Download the 3.08 drivers and if you're using Win98 and it ain't recognising your pad (this from the sites FAQ ):
"If you are using Windows 98, this is caused by a corrupted windows file. With your controller connected to your USB port, click on your "Start" button and click on "Run" and type in SFC and click OK, select "Extract one file from installation disk" and type in HID.DLL and click Start, Restore from should be your win98 folder on your Windows 98 CD (If you have a restore disk from the computer manufacturer it should be in "C
windows\options\cabs") and "Save file in" should be C
windows\system and click on OK. Windows is going to ask to backup the file already on your system click on OK to backup the file and restart the computer after.
If you are using Windows ME, with your controller connected to your USB port, please go into the Device Manager and open Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Double click on HID Compliant Device, click on the Driver tab and on Update Drivers.
Select Specify a Location and click NEXT. Then, select "Show a list of hardware" and click NEXT.
Click on HID Compliant Game Controller and click NEXT.
At one point, Windows will tell you that it cannot install this driver, click on Advanced and check the box "Warn me before installing unsigned devices" and click OK. Windows may also ask you if you'd like to continue, click on OK.
Once the installation is completed, go back into your Gaming Options and the joystick's status will be OK. "
This fixed all my teething problems when I got the pad and now it works fabulously with lots of my older games - complete with force feedback
Hope this helps.
