Right now, I have the difference between the dribbling and short passing ratings at 15-22 max. I don't see much ball hogging, but there are some more 1 touch passes than the last version.

Ah right, I think to be honest thats all it needs to break the cycle of the player not wanting to pass or "see" a good pass, a few one touches breaks that up so they make space to pass more.

Do you play CPU v. CPU? If so, I can make a separate version for CPU v. CPU FIFA gamers because there are different rating mechanics involved.

I do tend to gravitate towards Be A Pro / Pro player career, (and mod testing with AI V AI) but I also play kick off and manager mode. It depends on if you think its worth your time, if it does highlight a balance by having 2 versions for that style of play then cool. I can just flip DB/ini/Profile per mode I play if that was the case.

I certainly wouldn't want to help add more time taken if its not really wanted by many though.

BTW I didnt see this entry in your product.ini and Fidel has it and both yours & Fidel ini/DB causes the over use of shirt pulling from marked players when opponent us up behind them and in the box causing cards/penalties.

I saw this:

AIMarkerActionPushPull = 1000 Blindly I set this to 500 (In FIDELS BTW)... I still see it happen but far less when opponent AI is bearing down on player with ball, "maybe" this lessens the effect even though anim is triggered? Im still testing it and may be placebo or complete B.S .. but thought I would post it to ask. Do you or anyone know what causes this aggression push pull? Is it more complex than a simple value change? IE player rating, aggression setting = this will happen?

Also do you know how to lessen/stop second corner taker option for AI? As in it will happen sometimes or 50/50 chance?

I don't play that mode too much now, but that's because the AI is awful. I would certainly be interested in it using your mod.

Push pull is entirely related to aggression. You can lessen the strength of the tugg, but not sure how to decrease it yet. Short corners result from low values for build up in the teams table, so that might not be fixable for my patch - we'll see.

Not entirely sure about that. Since I lowered all speed and accel ratings to 1, CPU players are now grabbing and tripping my players all over the pitch. They seem to grab and trip because they can't keep up/catch up when I get a step on them, that's what I'm seeing. Could also be related to strength which I've set to 1 as well. BTW, lots of fouls/cards this way: CPU had 6 fouls, 2 yellows and a red after 15 minutes of one game I played last night, lol.

At any rate if aggression is the cause, it's team tactics aggression, because I have team aggression ratings near 100, and player aggression ratings at 1.

Yeah, aggression is about 90%, but if the defenders' reactions are low, they will pull the fast attacker once he gets by.

BTW, if anyone wants to know, progress: 65%. Might send for testing tomorrow, so PM me if you want to test.

i just played columbus crew vs america and america fouled me 17 times, tug and tug and tug away.

i have a few more things i want to test and if they turn out how i am expecting them to then we will have more fouls.

Yep thats exactly it, when Ai thats marking or running to AI (or player) on the ball is directly behind but cant pace faster ... they resort to "multi shirt tugging to death" mode :) BTW I just edited this post becuase I was missing a crucial "r" from a word which made that quote something entirely different :)

Worse is this is blindly done anywhere including inside the box. I have this experience with Fidels DB & ini too so its not specific to this one, but seem to see it a bit more here though.

The little AI shirt tugging bstards! Maybe its something/another 13 feature we can all blame on EA yet again.

This is basically 75% of the fouls you will see. Tackling fouls are rare, even when you change the db.

AP, I'm really enjoying the pre-release but I do have one problem with it. It seems like the positions are too fluid/interchangeable. Even playing with teams that should be quite static position-wise (West Ham, Stoke) there is a lot of position switching going on. By that I mean my forward (Andy Carroll for example) will drop back to midfield or Xavi will spend a lot of time in the forward's position. It's annoying, especially when playing with a team that I want to rely on aerial balls because my big man will be hanging around midfield instead of staying up top. Is there any way to tone this down?

Edit: Pass completion rate for the AI is also very high (with the default sliders) but that's a problem with the base game so I assume you aren't able to affect that very much.

You would have to edit individual teams/players workrates/positioning yourself.

Not to argue, but once player ratings are lowered way down, the amount of tacking fouls increases dramatically. I honestly see as many CPU tackling fouls/cards as I do shirt-pulling fouls/cards.

For me at least, there are 2-3 times more push pull fouls. I did have a match with 5 tackle fouls, though.

That will be fixed in the next update (full release). It has to do with the formations table.
Not much I can do, except to raise the riskiness of the AI's build up. The short pass ratings are low enough.

Right now I'm testing the effect CPU team tactic changes have on the gameplay, so I'm using a test roster in which most ratings for all players are set to 1. There are things now happening in the game which you just don't see with the default game, things that IMO improve the game substantially. One example: If I get a half-step on the CPU defender, he will stick his leg out and trip me, drawing a card in the process. I see this happen multiple times in games, it's quite common.

I don't know at this point if that's because of the CPU's reduced speed, or accel, or tackling, or reaction, etc. But some combination of these ratings edits is causing the CPU to draw many, many fouls and cards, which is something we just don't see with the default game. FIFA is like many other sports games: the player ratings are set so high that they interfere with the proper functioning of game engine.

my db has extremely low ratings as well and the game is much better but the good that comes with it also takes away from the game too.

i can get lots of fouls, etc but then no players take longs shots, etc.

there really is no mid point with this game, you either get option a or option b and there is nothing we can do.
