fifa is crashing

Does anyone have an idea of how to stop fifa2002 from crashing every once in a while? Very often when it loads it drops me back in the desktop. For a second it's on 640x400 resolution and then back to normal.I need to restart the PC every time in order not to whappen again. So damn annoying, man! Is there some way to change this?

do u have any corrupt files? thats what usualy did it for me. if u have the 3GK kits that is the problem. just uninstall it and the problem should fix..... well it did 4 me.

Make certain you have downloaded and installed the latest drivers for your video card. I'd had the same problem and the new drivers seem to have done the trick. Note, DirectX is now up to version 8.1.

mine keeps crashing in the same way, when i try and use certain gameplay updates. if i edit only a few things it works ok, but when i edit the attributes and a couple of other things it crashes when its loading. any help would be great.

I dont recommend DirectX8.1 for it seems that DirectX8.0 is much more stable !

It may crash if those gameplay-patches change the ini.big-file !


Try one of this Patches:

for Fifa2002 without update: soccer414
for Fifa2002 with update:soccer416


Simply extract the file into your Fifa2002 -folder. (Backup original before)


BTW: you can edit these gameplay-patches simply with Notepad or any other texteditor !

Sorry to dissapoint you but neither this patch worked out.

But it's OK. I managed to find my way through. I use FIFA-FX program now and fifa2002 is flowing really really good. Thanks a lot, cheers.

I had the same problem but when i installed Fifa Fx... maybe because i had a ripped version (not full instal)... and when i re installed withouth install Fifa fx my game works properly

I also donnu know how to use fifa-fx. I use just the basics for start. I still don't know how to use seperate stadiums for every team or for my favorite team. Anyone has a clue?
