I love the FIFA series it's the first and only football game i played and enjoyed. I played hundreds of hours of FIFA RTWC:98. I played over a thousand hours of FIFA 99. I loved FIFA 2000. I didn't really play 2001 because it was not my style. I played FIFA 2002 for hundreds of hours and i still play it. I went to the WCG qualifications for FIFA WC: 2002. My point is i have played a lot of FIFA in my life. Why oh why do you guys at EA **** up so badly sometimes. Once and for all Better graphics < Better gameplay
What did you have to do for FIFA 2003?
1. Iron out the GK bugs.
2. A couple more dribblings.
3. The FIFA 2003 direct free kick system.
4. The crossing system of FIFA 2003
5. Better player control. Implement a bit of what you put in FIFA 2003.
It would have been close to perfect.
Instead, what do we get?
1. Maximum two dribblings per player. Although hard to do.
2. A heading system that sucks.
3. A free kick system that except for the direct free kicks sucks.
4. Players who take forever to shoot while sprinting.
5. Where the feck have you seen football played without curling balls? Why did you take it out for Heaven's sake?
6. Two different passing systems which have major bugs. For example, i pass straight into space, but the player doesn't run toward the ball. Now i only have the ability to pass straight. That's not very realistic
7. A player fitness system with a huge bug. When you sprint, and you lose the ball, the player you sprinted with won't recover his condition unless selected. (If you sprint with Crespo, lose the ball and try to win it back with Davids, the next time you select Crespo he'll have the same low fitness level as before).
IMHO a combination between FIFA 99's and WC 2002's shooting system would be perfect.
8. The control of the players leaves a lot to be desired.
9. I didn't include the sprint problem in my original post because i had that unoficial patch. But it's a big problem. If the players have skills they why aren't they taken into account. Are we to believe that the skills are there just for decoration?
10. What about the awful research EA does? Chivu for example is one of the best defenders in the world(not my opinion, that of several people from clubs like Real, Juve etc) and in the game he has 65....
EA, this forum is for suggestions and constructive criticism among other things. Let me give you a bit of advice:
Football is not football without dribblings.
Football is not football without curling shots and passes.
Football is not football without the ability to head the ball unless someone is next to you.
Football is not football when you pass to a player, but that player doesn't get selected and passes 10 cm by the ball and doesn't pick it up.
I hope the next game in the series will be AN IMPROVEMENT
