fifa keyboard error

i've been having a problem since forever on all fifa games (and other games too).

i use the keyboard to play cos i find it really difficult with game pads. however, when i press up, left and any other key...it doesnt register at all

in other words, i cant tackle or pass a long ball in the up/left direction.

it beginning to really really bug me.

anyone come accross this before? or can offer any advice?

i dont think its my keyboard, and its definately not my motherboard.
