Why not? These people spend alot of time editing and ALOT of their free time goes to us instead. What Rinaldo should do is a donate option. I will be the first to donate some money for his time and effort that he gives us. If it wasn't for him/them we wouldn't have such tools to edit fifa. I mean look at Creation Master. It is an awsome tool which you can edit the whole fifa game. We all know that EA sucks so these tools come in very handy.
Anyhow i am really looking forward to CM08. I already have the game and i can't edit anything yet but with it i can transform it into a great game.

If none of all of us (patch-kit-face-adbroads-stadium-ball ect makers) create NOTHING for fifa 08, then his tool will managed to be a rubbish diamond, almost useless. it is a powerful action to send him a health lesson how not to cheat kids and teens by giving his projects for 1 year freeware and then asking them for money!!! he can not gain money using Sundsvall's, Tizmo's, Pede's stuff when all these guys do it for enjoyment and for free!!!
He said also that if his product is going to be cracked, then he will remove all his action here (point 3). we all know by experience that this will 100% happen! that also means that Rinaldo 100% will move off according to his sayings!!! this is a Polite kind of EXTORTION/SHAKEDOWN!!!!

The CEP'll no more available now for the F08. And that's a pity for few of ours cause it brings the basic Fifa game to a higher level adding lots of FREE stuffs from peoples around the scene who had decided to share from their own stuffs making a game better. Now is the Editor from rinaldo-very usufull-available for free another year, that's very important. If he decided to add some fuctions who required a payement for more specific fonctions of his editor, that's his right. I don't believe that i should have this fonctions needed in my case. thus -for me- is good & i will wait his tool exporting my stuffs ingame. Thx®ards Rinaldo
I have to agree with these points raised here, If everyone had to pay for every little thing to add ingame it wost cost a fortune. Imagine charging for like each kit face adboard, you would end up paying 5x the price of the FIFA08 game by itself !!!

No matter how much you will try to limit the access your programs, somehow they will always be disseminated thru someone. In all honesty, because your programs are of such high quality, Rinaldo, there would be many willing FIFA-gamers who would donate thru PayPal. Please at least try to reconsider your decision, it will be better for your already high reputation and you would setting an exemplary and positive example for the FIFA community from one of its Masters 
EDIT: I made my Euro 2008 patch WITHOUT CM; So shud i take it down untill someone pays me and my collaborating artists, given all the teams, stadiums, players, commentary, anthems, kits/minis and logos included?

So now, after 2000 line of codes, and 2000 hours of testing, he decided to make this shareware...so he had a good reason to lock advanced features..so a version fee with player creations is ok for 90% of the community, and we have some alternative to edit fifa.Unidb, fshtool, oedit.. and a community..so that's work like 2-3 years ago...CEP was born without CM, so other patch can do!

Although initially this seems very bad, it may not turn out as bad as most people think. Hopefully, if he keeps to his plan, the locked components will be things like the 3D viewer which would be usefull, but people who choose not to get the licence would not actually need then to edit the game and make patches. He did hint it may just be the advanced features locked.
I do also belive that someone will try to crack it. That is the case for most non-free software which is in demand. Also keep in mind that although EA have been tollerent of the community, if editors are making profits they may make the next version of the game near impossible to edit and maybe sell their own editing tools.

However you look at this, is a dirty attempt. The way Rinaldo updated cm07 to run with UCL was fast, the update for fifa08 is not different. I dont need NEW extraordinary-sensational-fantastic Master tool, I need the same old CM07 to work with this piece of sh... EA serve to us every year.

For all we know the patching options in CM08 will be pay-only... that would mean that you couldn't use cmp patches unless you distribute to pay customers.
Nothing has been said about backwards compatibility of teams either. I'm sure this feature would be pay only.

Just as fiordy said it, Rinaldo, you just can't expect your pay-to-unlock software won't be cracked. The average FIFA 08 editor doesn't have the knowledge to bypass your protection, but there are cracking groups out there devoted to cracking and/or providing serials, making free for all what the developer wanted others to pay.
So what you're saying is that if such a group, that's not related to either the people here that support your work or SG or SP, cracks your editor, which it will, you'll stop providing any of your software for free anymore?

I, too, support the option to donate. I'm a supporter of open-source actually, and I donate to the projects I like. But even if you don't want to get the source out to the public, making your software shareware and threatening the community not to crack it is ridiculous. You just don't understand that the community doesn't get a say in this. Your tools will be cracked. Period. Accept that, and change your plans, or meet the dismay of disappointed gamers.

First of all I want to thank you all for your honest feedbacks. I read them all and I will take a while to think about them and decide what to do.
Let me just reply to some points:
- During the past two years I have tried to start-up a cooperative work with the community. I founded the Fifa Master University sharing my knowledge with a lot of people. I have also shared my source code – yes, correct, the source code! - with some of the members hoping to get an help (and I want to thank the ones who did it) but honestly, at the end of the way, the 99% of all the development effort was on my shoulders. I have to admit that this approach simply does not work. (Please do not say that the I gave the tools for free one year just to “capture” customers because this is not the truth)
- The activity to develop the Master tools has gone by far beyond the limit of a reasonable hobby, I receive hundreds of messages or e-mail asking me for everything and, if you are one of them, you know that everytime I can I reply. The amount of time that I have to spend for maintaining everything alive is honestly more of what I would like to put in a hobby. Does it make sense that I continue in this “job” or it is maybe better that I invest my time in something else ? To find a better “real job” or maybe sleeping more ? I thought that to earn an honest buck was a good way to understand if it makes sense or not.
- I was also thinking to do it in a fair way. When you download the tool you may see which features are free and which are not. There is no time-limit and if you are happy with the free features you don’t need anything else. Honestly I didn’t decide yet which features are free and which are not but my idea was that you should be happy to pay only if you say “Wow, I really want to do that!” not if you are going to use the tools in a “very standard” way. Anyway some of you suggested instead to ask for donations and I promise to think about it.
- I wonder how some of you are so disappointed (I would say aggressive) with the idea to pay for a program! It is not a crime: I do not kill anybody, I do not steal anything to anybody, I do not force anybody to do anything. There is nothing of immoral in that.
- I do NOT crack FIFA 08, the ones that make the NOCD patches do the crack, not me. My tools are editors to improve the game but you still need to own an original, licensed copy of the game in order to play it.
Btw, I will be out for a couple of weeks for personal reasons, a good time to rest a while and think about your feedbacks. Feel free to continue to add comments in this post, as you can see I read them.
