wow get ready to get pissed. We (toronto) just lost 1 of our games to Montreal due to poor CSA Planning. (Y) ******* idiots.

- btw the draw is on saturday, on CBC

_____________
"* If you don't know yet, the Toronto organizers for the FIFA World Youth Championship tournament, made a total mess in scheduling matches at BMO Field during the Indy Car Race on July 8th. After talk of resolution, and reassurances that fans should not be worried, Toronto ends up losing one of the matches on July 8th to Montreal.

So who gets to pay for the organizing committee's screw up exactly? Well its the fans of course. The same fans the organizers have taken money from. Soccer fans were sold packages based on a doubleheader for Sunday July 8th, and instead one of the matches gets moved. The explanation goes something like this - your still getting a game/event on that day so we've done nothing wrong. A bogus answer in my estimation. Had they not advertised the game as a doubleheader, this would be a non-issue, yet the schedule was released and many people relied on that information when purchasing tickets. Some have even made travel plans for that match, expecting to see their team play. What do fans get other than a poor excuse for the inept planning on the part of the organizing committee - a realization that some have little integrity in the way they go about doing business.

* By the way, I can't believe all the hype around town for the FIFA World Youth Championship draw on Saturday? Seriously, does anyone know or care that this event is taking place in Toronto? It will be televised live on the CBC apparently, if your interested.

* Lucky # 7 - 2007 is the 80th Anniversary of the Toronto Maple Leafs, and 30th Anniversary of the Toronto Blue Jays (or whatever their called now). Good year for Toronto FC to play their inaugural season.

The Official FIFA World Cup Canada 2007 draw is being held today in Toronto.

Updated Match Schedule:

FIFA and the NOC for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Canada 2007 have announced an adjustment to the tournament schedule. Match #33, originally scheduled to take place in Toronto, has been moved to Montréal’s Stade Olympique. Match #33, which will be a final group stage match between the teams C1 and C3, is still scheduled to be played on 8 July.

The adjustment has been made to accommodate everyone attending both the Grand Prix of Toronto event and the FIFA U-20 World Cup match that were scheduled on the same day at Exhibition Place in Toronto. Match #36 on 8 July between the teams A2 and A4 has not been affected. Toronto ticket packages remain unchanged with nine event days, sold in a variety of multi-day packages. Montréal fans, meanwhile, will have access to an additional event day, as their package increases to six event days.

Good group for Portugal, and great group for Canada! Obviously any opponent is always tough for Canada, but that looks like a group that we actually have a chance of getting through

Hmm i don't really know what to expect from Argentina's group, i know that from the euro-sides Spain and Portugal are the hard ones and that the Czech are average/above-average, but i don't really know about Panama or North Korea.

Haha, it's actually Gambia, pasion just spelled it wrong.

I think we'll make it out of the group with Portugal being the main competition. That's not to say that Gambia or New Zealand will be easy. African teams are always dangerous in these types of competitions and I honestly know nothing about New Zealand's team so I don't know what to expect from them. Our guys have been together for a while now with a lot of them playing together when they won in Peru a couple of years ago so hopefully that will play to our advantage.
