I just looked at the new rankings,
man is there something wrong with their system.

Besides the top three, the rest is messed up.

Maybe they can re-invent the system somehow where it would be coaches who voted on who was #1, #2, and so forth. That's not very practical for determining the World Rankings, but that might be the best way to determine who really deserves to go to the World Cup (e.g. Coaches vote for the top 32 teams).

So, I guess I'm talking primarily about how World Cup teams are invited.

What do you mean, even the top 3 are messed up. Argentina should be in front of Brazil, and Brzail shouldn't even be in the top 5. It doesn't matter how good they SHOULD be, they're not playing like a top 5 team.

International friendly results are take into account,,,when a lower rank team beat a higher ranking team..he will gain more points than beating lower rank opponents,,,daz why it's a mess...and yes...why care bout the ranking?,,it'a not a F1 which could determine champions at the end of a year

Why on earth is Columbia in the top 5?

Well, you might want to learn how to spell their name before criticizing them, but I agree that top 5 is quite high for Colombia.

I never take any notice of the World Cup Rankings at all because they are a meaningless statistic. I'm not just saying it because my team are ranked 96th in the World, it's really because the method of sorting who is in what position is a load of bollocks.

I mean, Brazil have been utter sh*te so why are they in the top 3? Colombia finished 6th out of 10 in their qualifying group - so how come they are in the top 5? Complete shambles.

My opinion is that the #1 team should be the World Cup holders - they won the best of the best so if that's the case .... erm you get the picture :D

FIFA suck anyway... who gives a toss about that mismanaged governing body?

To be honest i think mexico deserves his place.(Wins and great matches VS big teams at WCs)

BTW FIFA ranking its very strange so lets wait to da WC and then we will see, and yes the past and tournaments won count here
