You have a real winner with this db and gp patch, congrats and thanks for all your hard work. I played two friendlies: Fulham (me) vs Norwich (CPU), 10 minute halves, Legendary difficulty. The first game I played on the Slow speed setting. I found it to be a bit too slow for my liking overall, but still very close to what feels right to me. I played the second game on Normal speed setting. This felt pretty much perfect for me, perhaps just a bit too fast (never satisfied, lol). It's great though that people have the choice to play on either setting and decide which they prefer, as they both work just fine in their own way. Great job with that.
Below are the gameplay notes I jotted down as the two games progressed. I've also taken screenshots of the final Match Facts summaries. You'll notice my shot total in Game 1 is very low (love it!) compared to Game 2, and that can be directly attributed to the increase in speed settings for Game 2.
Pros – Game 1
-player movement/agility much more natural and realistic
-CPU offensive build-up is slower and more organic
-loose ball physics feel close to perfect; perhaps just a bit too loose but still very realistic
-pass speed/ball weight feels pretty much perfect
-the issue of quick tic-tac-toe passes by the CPU defense after gaining possession in their end appears to be fixed
-CPU sub @ 53:00
-CPU bringing plenty of players back to defend
-CPU sub @ 65:00
-noticeable increase in number of CPU fouls and cards
-CPU making unsuccessful diving tackle attempts, allowing my players to get around them
-my team’s energy levels @ 80:00 are down to 2/3
-nice one-touches by the CPU in the offensive end
-CPU sub @ 86:00
Pros - Game 2
-no sense of AI scripting or cheating with CPU offensive build-up
-CPU defense blocking lots of shots
-my first real chance/decent shot on goal in two games came @ 33:00 of the second game!
-lots of tactical hesitation/back passes by the CPU in their end
-gk punch on cross, very nice
-CPU sub @ 59:00
-beautiful volley/shot attempt by the CPU from 35 yds out
-CPU sub @ 73:00
Cons (almost too few to mention and mostly to do with speed rating tweaks)
-still a bit too many CPU long balls forward, but definitely better than the default gameplay
-CPU can be too passive on defense at times
-at times, CPU players when under pressure in their end appear to be jogging and/or don't react with enough urgency
-could to be more of a ratings spread between players; fastest players should perhaps be rated in the 90s
-in general, it seems more players need to be rated higher than they currently are; feels as if too many players are rated the same, speed-wise
