Finally some good new rap / hip hop

Finally some new hip hop to talk about! Everyone should try to check out "Ghetto Pop Life" by Danger Mouse (producer) and Jemini. This is my favourite new release since the Chronic 2001.

"Let’s put it simply, Ghetto Pop Life is one hell of a record. In sixteen tracks spread over just under an hour, MC Jemini and producer extraordinaire Danger Mouse rewrite the whole history of hip-hop only to pull it apart again and again."

"With this first collaboration, Danger Mouse and Jemini offer an interesting take on hip-hop, classic and modern, and produce one of the most exhilarating albums of the year so far. Their unique blend of sounds and rhymes is utterly essential, whether you’re into hip-hop or not. "

Anyone heard this??

My friend has Hip Hop The Collection on 2 cd's. I've never really liked hip hop before but i'm really started to get interested in it now especially with True Crime Streets of LA coming out soon with a soundtrack completely dedicated to hip hop. (H)

You all should head down to a specialized hip hop record shop and get this LP its ****ing nuts. If it was on a bigger label it would outsell 50 cent easily...

You're right, where are all the real names like Jay-Z, Nas, Eminem, 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, etc. Shut up doosh.

And lyrics are way overrated, something doesn't have to be significant for it to be a good song, or even musically innovative, although I'm not saying "Got Some Teeth" is opening any new doors. It's a tight song though, and a better video.

ShiftyPowers: You don't get it. At the beginning of Eminem's song (#10 on Eminem Show, forgot the name  ) Obie starts with saying: "Obie Trice, real name, no gimmicks." Get it? (H) :crazyboy:

Mishkin: Explain the sig.. it's going too fast :| :(
