I have converted!
As soon as I played WE8, it was a taste of what PES4 would feel like. Animations with the ball are fixed and the ball no longer "flies" in the air like it used to. Even the ball can bobble on pitch if conditions are hot. Player animations....wow! Where do I start? They are by far the most realistic movements a football game has ever seen. Graphics may not be the best around but I think they give FIFA a run for it's money. The licences, they are all I need, if they had the EPL licence, the im sure most of the FIFA fans would convert to.

FIFA 2005 is a big step forward. . . compared to FIFA 2004, which was even worse than CF. 05 has nothing to offer me, flicking the anolog stick for a better first touch? PES3 had first touch I believe, didn't it ot was it another Konami game? FIFA STILL feels scripted in a way, but Pro Evolution Soccer is just stunning. I look forward to the PES' in the future, because one day, the game will be perfect. FIFA is for boys, PES/WE is for men!

unfortunately men I think full licenced PES wouldn't be enough to push FIFA fans towards PES, because most of them don't know about PES at all (do they come from mars

I'm french and for instance, on our daily sports newspaper called "L'Equipe" (it means "The Team"), there is an ad for the release of mother****in' damn **** FIFA today
The problem is i'm sure there won't be any for PES the 15th, so that PES won't get more notorious

I guarantee you that I'd like to go the biggest multimedia store of the city and tell every people intendin'to buy FIFA that it's just crap and that they should await PES just a week (just a week : lol, I can't wait I dream of it every single minute night and day)

yet, I congratulate every old FIFA players who understood how much PES is almost a perfect football simulation and FIFA just crap

else, I'd like to know if someone has seen or owns a video of ronaldinho's flip-flap in the game ?

I've been playing WE8 since August, last time I played FIFA (A Loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago), I thought I was playing Ice Hockey

I too was a Fifa fan at one point, but that was only because they hadn't released any WE games in the US yet. I still don't understand how any true footie fan would choose Fifa over WE. Fifa feels too much like an arcade game. WE is hardcore!!!

Hehe i will also be 'converting' as i'll be gettin PES4 very soon! I've had fifa a while and want a new, harder challenge. I like the demo very much!

I spoke to a guy today and he said he could be getting the game early !!

He said he should get it between Tuesday - Thursday! So I might have it a few days before the official release

i'm afraid you may be right....

a lot of them would stick to fifa just because they were " fanboys"

truthfully, i think the same thing would happen to us pes gamers,
if fifa got great gameplay, many pes addicts would not play fifa...

the weirdest thing happened to me the other day.

i shot the ball with owen... it hit off the keeper,
c ronaldo followed up the shot, it hit off the crossbar and went downwards, the defender tried to volley and clear it but he accidentally kicked his own keepers ass.

the keeper fell down and then got up and dove for the ball and tipped it into the net....

funny, but another example of unscripted and random gameplay

what you said is very relevant, it would be the same for us even if FIFA was good and not the total crap it is

but don't worry I saw fifa 2005 a few minute and, admittedly graphics are better than in PES, but it's still the same poor and crappy gameplay : it goes from a goalkeeper to another without pressing from defending players and easy dribble

whereas has the gameplay we all know and is almost unscripted (just as needed) which allows the funny piece of play you described
