First Fifa 06 Great News...... from www.mundofifa.net

Play2Mania magazine's staff had the opportunity to play FIFA 06 beta version, and they have been impressed by the quality of the next installment on the FIFA franchise, which promises to be the best football game of the year.

First of all, they confirm we will have Rooney and Ronaldinho on the cover. Nothing is said about Lukas Podolski, because we think this player will only appear on the german version of the game.

Talking about gameplay, EA put a lot of effort on cinematics, passing and shooting system, and all this was noticeable on the beta version they could play. "Off the Ball" system has been removed, but we still have a button to unmark players. We will have a new movement to let the ball go through us (similar to the one on PES, pressing R1). One of the cons is that keepers tend to reject the ball, and not to keep it, but EA said as this was a beta version they will correct that.

We will have 21 leagues to choose from, but until this moment things are not clear. Players' faces are better, as well as stadiums, which look more real than last year. The speed of the game is more realistic, compared to FIFA 2005. The spanish commentators will be again Manolo Lama and Paco Gonzáles.

What can we say about Career Mode? We can take our team through 15 years, and now we will be able to choose any team, not only lower division teams. This mode has been built again, and it's even harder than in FIFA 2005, because we will have to sign lots of players, make contracts, and have our sponsors. In some aspects is similar to TCM, as now we aren't only coachs, we're managers too.

Something similar to EA Sports Talk Radio from Champions League game will be available. When it comes to online gaming, we could share a great amount of data with our friends like our progress in Career Mode, etc.

Many unlockables, plenty of fun. One of them, which we mentioned days ago, is FIFA 94 on its Megadrive version. On the other hand, we have classic players like Pelé, Zico, or historic football videos.

Many thanks to Alvaro (yefri), who sent us this information from Spain (Play2Manía magazine).

Wow, almost too good to be true. I am so excited to hear that finally, players are no longer slaves in career mode and you will actually have to work out contracts.

The fact that EA has listened to the overwhelming requests to remove OTB, improve career mode, and include historical aspects indicates that they're really listening to the loyal FIFA fans this year, kudos to them.

Welll if all that is true and since its from the beta version the game is sounding very promising. Yes it does seam like EA is listening to its fans and is really working hard this year to create the best football they could for the year. Now I know they can't make the game perfect but aslong as the improve lots over last year then its a really good start! A big two thumbs up for EA (Y) (Y) and I really can't wait for more info, videos and the like.

Current gen. Next gen is the rtwc game i believe.

I hope the content doesn't change for the worse for next-gen. Next-gen gaming is all about the future. Would seem very backward to take stuff out of next-gen.

NK.

Absolutely true, every single year the game seems to be promising but when you finally play the game is the same crap.

I'm actually a little confused about the "21 leagues" claim. By my count that's a substantial drop from the 27 in 2005, although that count includes Internationals and Rest of the World, and counts The Premiership, Championship, Bundesliga 1 and 2, etc., as seperate leagues. Why would they decrease the number of leagues? Unless the 21-count doesn't include Rest of the World, Internationals, and counts all of the national divisions as one league.

2005 did not have 27 leagues. Lower leagues do not count on the list I dont think

WOW! Fifa 94 as an unlockable :bouncy: The game that started it all for me.

Winning Eleven 9 / PES5 is looking pretty tasty - specially the edit modes.

I get both usually, FIFA's wealth of teams and leagues (as well as the presentation and licenses always draws me, however the gameplay of WE has become far superior (it was PES3 that hooked me first). For six years or so, every summer I hear EA and early play tests rave about FIFA only for the gameplay to fail to live up to the hype. When I see the game in action I will make my call, I've seen WE9, and FIFA needs to improve.
