For the last few weeks, many videos and pics are being leaked by both of them. Both are boasting many new GROUNDBREAKING features - Active AI, Impact engine, Precision Dribbling to name a few.
But at the end, what do we get? 10% of what had been promised, year after year, be it EA or Konami. Both of them are advertising a lot, but delivering not much.
Look at EA - how much of a difference is there between Fifa 10 console (or Fifa 11 PC) with Fifa 11 console? Is it too much? Is Fifa 11 console perfect? Then we should not complaint about Fifa ever. What actually that P+ gave?
Look at Konami this year - I was totally disappointed after playing the demo - is it active AI? They are actively going down, believe me PES 2011 plays better with gameplay patches than this demo version.
So it looks doubtful too whether Fifa 12 will also deliver as they are saying - history says they wont - first few weeks there will be honeymoon period, the rest of the year - whining.
That's right too.
I think there's only so much EA can do right now maintaining the same platform and engine. Until there's a next-gen to start working on, I think we won't see many radical changes.
Plus, I guess EA likes the results they've achieved so far and they're not interested in changing much. They trust their product, and it shows.
Same for Konami. They started off with the wrong foot and to change engine now would be suicidal. A next-gen will be out by the time they can get it right with another engine on this one.
