The Legend
There's a limit of one city with two stadiums, that's what I think would hurt an Aussie bid the most.

In Melbourne the second stadium would almost certainly be the MRS, since the Docklands is going to be needed by the AFL considering the MCG is a fixture anytime the country hosts a major event, and as one of the world's premier stadiums it should be. That said, the Princes Oval isn't in awful shape and if kept up could host AFL matches in place of the Docklands.

I think Sydney would be the double host, with the Olympic Stadium and SFS.

I'd go:
Sydney 1 (Olympic) - Opening match and semi final A
Sydney 2 (SFS)
Melbourne (MCG) - final
Adelaide (New football and rugby ground)
Brisbane (Lang) - semi final B
Perth (New ground, or substantially upgraded MES)
Geelong (Kardinia Park)
Canberra (Upgrade)
Townsville (New 25,000 seater with 15,000 temp. seats)
Newcastle (Temp seats)
Either Gold Coast, Gosford, or if Hobart builds a stadium.

Training venues could be Wollongong, Ballymore, one of the unused ovals in Melbourne, Hindmarsh, Fremantle Oval, and that stadium where the W-League team plays in the ACT.

Yea, Geelong is just a provincial town, but it seems (to an outsider) to be a good sporting town.

Your plan of having Princes Park as a reliever ground for AFL games in 2018 or 2022 has a bit of a gaping hole in it: they demolished some of the grandstands not too long ago.

It can definitely be done.

IMO, the main problem, though, is timing.
If they choose to hold it in June/July, it will be Winter and the middle of the AFL and Rugby seasons, which will pose stadium problems, as you already mentioned Bobby.
But if they want to host it in Jan/Feb, it'll be good Summer weather but will be in the middle of all Football seasons, here and Internationally.

India always sucked at football..although we have a history stretching long back
I even remember we had qualified for a world cup by beating hungary long back but we never went to play cause of lack of funds and sponsors.

No matter what, football in India will never ever come up, cause everyone is too engrossed in cricket.

There is no investment here in football...the stadiums..if any..suck...
the passion is there..but only for european clubs.
there wasnt n will never be a solution to this country's problem in being bad i nfootball

After 3 years.. India still sucks...
