Football Literature

Hello All,
it's Christmas soon and I wanted to ask for a few football-related books.
So far I have a biography of Alex Ferguson and Roy Keane, both of which I enjoyed(especially Keane's book). My dad also leant me a book about corruption in football which I am also enjoying at the moment.
Anyway, I just wanted to ask for a few recommendations if anyone has any, it can be biographies, histories of clubs or anything, I really don't mind, only whenever I look for something football-related in a shop it never looks particularly worth reading.
Any recommendations would be welcome, thanks.

The only one I've read is "The Little Book of European Football". It's about the Champions League and the UEFA Cup from the beginning to present. It's quite interesting, but not very in depth.

The Legend
Peter Crouch's autobiography is good. Seriously, he's an interesting person, quite intelligent as well. It's called, rather unsurprisingly, Walking Tall.

Also look for Ultra Nippon: How Japan Reinvented Football by Jonathan Birchall, it's not easy to find though

Crouch's autobiography? What's the point of him having a book written about himself, he hasn't done anything.
But anyway, I'll take your word for it and search for some reviews etc.
Thanks everybody!
Does anyone have any football fiction books, perhaps about a fictional character in a team or whatever.
I can only ever find childrens books in that area.

Bobby

The Legend
He's had a strange road, there's a part about him playing in a youth match and an opposing players' father screaming to his son to break Crouch's leg (and being serious as a heart attack about it). Crouch's father ran over and leathered the guy.

His family was also so poor at one point they were sleeping on the floor of a Church.

I read Patrick Vieira's autobiography. It was while he was at Juventus. He said the only person that was ever racist to him during a match in his whole career was Sinisa Mihajlovic... Mihajlovic ended up being his assistant manager at Inter... (H)

Hmm not much if I remember. He sounds like a huge gentleman in the book... I dunno about on the pitch. He's very ambitious. He also said Ashley Cole would end up becoming captain at Arsenal because he has a great character. (H)

I regularly write short book reviews for a site I contribute to. It depends what you are looking for. There is an excellent book on Russian football by Marc Bennetts, which, even if you know nothing about Russia, is a fantastic read. Then there is a latest biography on Arsene Wenger. It's about as official as you can get seeing as he authorised it, and I really enjoyed that one too.
