Former FIFA addict finally plays PES3 and touches the face of God...

I have owned a copy of every FIFA ever since the '97 series, I'm not gonna play that game ever again now.

I remember playing Iss on the Super nintendo, I loved that game, but I never knew what it's name was. Then a few years ago in Thailand I was playing a football game, Winning Eleven, but then I came back to England and couldn't find that either! Soon I realised that Winning Eleven is Pro Evolution Soccer, of which I had started to play since the first one to come out on ps2, but hadn't played it much as I didn't own a ps2.

Now that I've got pes3 on the pc, there's nothing to get me off of it. The best soccer sim there is out there, and that's final :)

Here is what the top guy at EA said, right out of his own words

FOOT IN MOUTH
Clearly aimed at the mass market, EA is happy to admit that it's attempting to ensnare Euro-crazed football fans. In a somewhat Ratner-esque statement, a senior marketing executive openly proclaimed: "I want to be honest with you and say that this game is not going to be a PES-beater - it's not even going to necessarily be a FIFA-beater."

AHHAHAAHAHAHHAHA So plz Henry just shut the **** up:rockman: (H)

Jesus, you eloquently put into words exactly what I have been trying to say about FiFA since 98. Same graphics engine. Same AI. And the BIGGEST part of the whole Ruse is that they never have the same set of features carry over the next year. I mean Jesus one year you have dynamic weather, the next year it is gone. One year you have precise dribbling the next you have a bastardization of NBA Live's freestyle control. One year you can customize your formation/strategy on the fly the next you have to quit the game you are playing just to change formations. I went through this for 6 ******* years and it took me that long that EA hasn't created a game since FIFA 98, they have created a marketing product. The only games EA Sports has improved upon in recent years is Madden and Live. And even those games have a long way to go.

The greatest thing about PES 3 is you can play with the computer and you can always tell why you lost. Their is no bull**** AI deficiencies, you can change strategies within the game and see its effect.

Good Points! Prominance!

That's one of the many reasons why EA - FIFA sucks. See what they are repeating the same sh*t now! They took out "Diving header" & "Bicycle kick", and now put them back in EURO2004 as a NEW features, that is totally bullsh*t~! But I'd a big laugh, but feel sorry to FIFA fans... oh, maybe they are still happying and kissing the EA box right now.

Its not really to be distilled down to "taking sides," what most of us are talking about here is advocating for a type of football gaming development, a way of seeing the world that requires that developers see us as more than consumers, and in the main are possessed of an equal "pillar" of development that sees us - and themselves - as fans...as critical detailed enthusiasts.

KONAMI's development team reflect that in damn near every aspect of their game.

EA Canada, quite simply, do not, and have not for a long time.

For goodness' sake, just the opening CINEMAS, let alone things like - ! - gameplay, of PES3 and FIFA 2004 tell you everything you need to know about these two development teams!

All that being said, noone's telling you what to like, or why; conversely, if folks have a problem or set of problems with the direction any one or any set of developers has been going, well, they are overwhelmingly entitled (particualrly if you ARE looking at them as JUST consumers./..how many FIFA games have I bought, across how many platforms, in the last 7-8 years???) to speak their mind in that way as well, don't you think?
