Fox 'Soccer' Report

Why did Fox Soccer Channel decide to get rid of 'Fox Sports World Report'? It was bad enough when the station changed to Fox Soccer Channel and stopped showing Rugby, Rugby League etc but now we can't even see meagre highlights of those sports. Why does it have to be exclusively soccer? To see those useless hosts ridiculing the othe r sports and proudly proclaiming the show is now devoted to soccer alone was disgusting. It's too much, an overload. Maybe some of us want to know more than just the fourth round draw for the FA Cup.

Because nobody in the US watched Rugby. As simple as that. Also, what's the point of still calling a show after your old channel name?

Don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm disagreeing with you. It's all about making money here and marketing.

I'm not disagreeing either that Rugby isn't largely crap at the best of times, but what's the harm in showing a paltry few minutes of highlights? As it is FSC is limited on the soccer they show. It should just be Fox English Premier Channel. I love it during the off season when they have nothing to show and play 'Premier Classics', which is a game between Charlton and Bolton or something.

Just kidding mate. The explanation was already given I think. Its all about money and audiences. Rugby is just not poular in the USA. Football is fighting hard for airtime as it is in the USA, so what chance does Rugby stand.

well dunno but those ppl in the states i know they have minimum interest in cricket and such but football in the US is growing and when usually a company decides to change something they've done the market research and show they can make more money, life isnt always fair

Life is NEVER fair Dip.

Is US soccer getting airtime in the states or is Football from other countries that get more airtime?

It is a soccer channel... I actually did quite like the rugby highlights despite not knowing the first thing about the sport, but I had to change the channel every time they started talking about cricket.

An MLS fan has access to the local team and one or two other games which get shown in ESPN. Any other games requires a pay-per view season package which then gives you acces to all the MLS games.

There are three channels that require subscription, but when activated, give you access to all the EPL games. They also show some Serie A, Bundesliga, coca-cola championship, La liga, and french Ligue games.

So to answer your question, a football fan must pay to have access to either national or international football. :jambo:

LOL. I didn't even notice the name change and I usually see the show atleast 3 times a week. The new set is very nice though. The blend of colors. The materials and the technology at hand. Grand. Mitch Peacock is the sh!t. :mrpimp:

Not true...

ESPN has the rights for the World Cup and as it was announced recentely for EURO 2008. ESPN also has the rights for the CL and they show a minimum of 2 live games per matchday and 2 more matches that are delayed and played right after the live matches are complete. They also show all of the US national team matches.

FSC also shows plenty of EPL and 2 Serie A games per week and also show plenty of live EURO qualifiers.

So basically all the soccer shown on ESPN you get with basic cable. If you want FSC you have to play a little more but it's nothing out of the ordinary. On the contrary a football fan doesn't have anything except for basic cable fees in the US to watch national soccer and CL.

oh and about the thread topic. Are the same anchors left? If so then I won't be watching it now more than I was before (pretty much never) because those guys are retarted. The only one that makes any sense is the Irish guy they have in once or twice a week or something. Their highlights are borish as hell too.

Gol TV is the best soccer channel. FSC is 2nd. ESPN isn't even close.

I saw a soccer match on South Carolina Public Television (Charlotte, NC gets SC TV on channel 30) and it was better than ESPN's world cup broadcast. USC Upstate was playing somebody at this Church of football.
