If a player is Basque of origin, and he refuses to play for the Spain team due to political reasons, would the same rules (punishments) apply to him such as forceful club suspension etc. like the one appealed against Anelka of France and Kanu of Nigeria?

Things haven't gone so far here ... maybe in some other sport, but not in football. Sport, and specialy footballl, is too professionalized here for anything like that.


Have Macau and Honk Kong internationaly are they considered to be inside China or they have a special status?

Anyway, the most important thing in this situation is how the state behaves. In the case of Catalunya and Basque Country, Spain is pressing in any possible way to keep things as they are. Don't know if China is doing the same.

It's really a difficult subject, that is quite hot here at the moment.
