That's a possibility, but from the videos and images shown so far, specially on the couple videos released, where you see Messi's head and Clint Dempsey's too I guess, inside a 3d modelling program the models don't look different. The only thing that they've changed seems to be the body models and rigging. The rest of the player visual differences are lighting/filter related. I guess there's a higher chance of the kit models being different than the player heads. For the hairs, they probably simply decided to add "bones" and apply the new rigging to them.
