gameplay update (fath builder regenerating required or not?)

Hi,
I have a question. When I change product.ini in Game (install new gameplays which are mostly just product.ini files), should I regenerate fathBuilder? Or this is not required to have a new gameplay in the game, existing saves? What about the saves? Will I loose them when I regenerate fath builder?
What I might say is that when I began to play with current saves I had some product.ini in Game directory, so I suppose that now when I change with different one, the gameplay should be updated without regenerate fath builder. Am I right?

yea it should be, but if u install any gameplay patch(not copy paste) then, u need i68regenerator
