Hi All!
I am a very experienced computer footy player having started away back in 1984 with 'International Soccer' for CBM64.
Yep that's right 38k of available memory and it was running a fully featured football game Albeit it was a cartridge so the whole game then would have been about 250k hard burned into the chips in that.
Anyway, since then I graduated to the marvellous KO II on Amiga which I played for years, then SWOS, then FIFA95 on Mega Drive, the FIFA series from 97 to the latest 2003 on PC, all mixed in with ISS and some FIFA's on the PS2.
I didn't really bother with PES last year as I was liking ISS and felt the lack of editability etc was a detraction for me.
However, I have always appreciated good gameplay, so the FIFA's never lasted more than a month, b4 being premanently assigned to their CD cases forever, and so it was back to ISS mostly for me.
Now I have PES2, I have done the edits I am happy with and now I have started a new ML.
This gameplay ROCKS like mad, I considered ISS to be a phenomenal game that's why its taken me so long to move over to PES!
PES2 is something else, everyday I discover more to the game, more to the playing style etc.
I have to admit though that I am not seasoned player at it yet but would like to take the level up a little as I am winning easy on the current level [I have only had the game 4 days ]
I find though that going up one level means the style I was using previously was having not much use at the higher level and I am losing most games.
Have any of you experts in here got any tips or hints, like recommended formations, tactics etc that will help me up the levels ladder a bit?
In the mean time, I shall have to go and play it again, even though I should be doing my work and taking care of my commitments :P
I look forward to hearing from any of you who want to help a desperate old footy player to beat some smart assed AI team that thinks its better than me
