gettting around a router?

Does anyone know how to get around the physical firewall that exsists in a router? its so annoying to not be able to play computer games online because they say that the external ip is different from the internal ip, which i suppose is the lan ip address. very little support from the product's website, it's too technical, so i was wondering if anyone could help please, b/c i know many of you do have routers.

p.s.- i need the router connected as im sharing computers

You need to forward your TCP port 2048 and UDP port 2048 to your internal IP (LAN IP).

Usually you can do that in your `Router Setup`...

Port 2048 is only for FIFA..other games might use other ports...

It's probably in the manual...

Not sure what router type you have...I did it a quick google search and came up with this...it's a small `tutorial`

http://www.kareno.net/LinkSys/

Look for the Forwarding comments that's what you will have to do...of course with the TCP and UDP number I gave
